When someone comes to the board angsting about Adam's career, or expressing unhappiness that things aren't happening according to what we fans might want, I don't think they get blowback simply for saying negative things. Personally, I don't mind negativity as long as the person expressing it makes it clear that this is just how they're feeling right now. But I do start eye rolling if someone portrays the thing that Adam did or didn't do as dooming him (and the fandom) for all eternity.
In life, there are things we can directly control, and the things we don't/can't control. We don't control Adam's career, but we each have full control over how we respond to what's going on with him.
I try to live by a piece of wisdom from Lord of the Rings, expressed in this conversation between Frodo and Gandalf:
Frodo: I wish none of this had happened.
Gandalf: So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

I think that maybe we should do some kind of fan-psychotherapy? Maybe we can talk about things that are difficult for us as a fans? Why some of us react the way we do, what irritate us most and what makes us happy as fans. We are talking a lot here about Adam, but IMHO being fan is sometimes a special state of mind to deal with, and not always talking only about Adam can resolve our problems as Adamtopia community. aye ,, a , rehab thread !Whose gonna run it??? Anyone sane here???  Hey, lots of quivering going on..see what ye've missed???  |

Hey St.Viv (snort). I just came online after I closed the doors on the bordello that I run. It was a slow night, everyone is watching the Olympics. I see we are letting out our inner Eeyore. Even Winnie the Pooh needed an Eeyore to find balance in the Hundred Acre Woods. I don't think he had a bordello though. SO BUSTED...you didn't know about St. Viv??? Girl..too much time in that bordello..  Excellent analogy. Thanks, bb.  |

 You always have the most beautiful photos.. you must love photography,I know I do.. it was a part of my life at one point until i realized that I viewed the world through the eye of my camera ,rather than through my soul. I just checked the filmography. Jordin has been on TV shows 8 times. Kelly has been on 18 times. Anyone want to help compile an Adam list?? I'll start & you can see if I forgot anything. I am not going to count Idol performances but I am counting mentor. Not counting Leno & stuff either. Basically, non performance shows. Hmmmm, should Oprah be counted as it was a feature?! Chelsea Lately twice, VH1 Big Morning Buzz (that kiss!), CNN Starting Point morning show round table chat, Larry King, Oprah twice, Fashion Police twice, Rove LA, FuseTV, The View, The Talk, CBS this morning, several Ellen interviews, Bravo's Watch What Happens Live, Wendy Williams, and all his performances on Leno, Letterman, Ellen, AMA's twice, VH1 Divas, NewNowNext Awards twice (was that on TV?), VMA's, CW's iHeartRadio Festival Queenbert broadcast (was Adam on both nights?), not counting all the foreign TV, of course.
I almost forgot the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards on VH1 in 2010 when he presented with Sarah Silverman. Also, Adam's hilarious skit on Best Week Ever on VH1 showing what a natural comedian he is.

Having just finished reading the various volumes of Winnie-the-Pooh as bedtime stories over the past few weeks, I'm having a hard time envisioning Eeyore in a bordello. Either he's either just going to be lying legs up in the air in a mopey/resigned state waiting to see if anyone will notice/service him, or he'll be sulking around various garish rooms saying at random moments: "Don't mind me, its just another case of VD. Nobody else seems to be bothered. My tail's simply falling off again..."  |

Mszue! Yes! I loved Jennifer and had never listened to her much because of her being in the Country genre! Her voice is fabulous! Very impressed! Jennifer Nettles is awesome! Actually, if anyone wants to find it - I'm sure its on YouTube - listen to the duet she did with Jon Bon Jovi "Who Says You Can't Go Home". Bon Jovi did a version both with her (as a duet) and without her (as a solo) and the difference with the duet is so freaking amazing. The duet was one of my favs on the radio for a long, long time. Always made me mad when some station would only play the solo version instead. Just popping in to agree with this. Jennifer Nettles has a wonderful, beautiful voice! And yes I do own that Jennifer nettles/Bon jovi duet, lol. It IS kind of cheesy, but I adore it! (And I am not a country listener.) |
