I had a funny thought today. I thought about the many, many posts that I have read over the past 5 years about Adam that said something like….

“Wouldn’t it be nice if….” or “I wish Adam would get to….” or “Why can’t Adam…” I see you nodding, you know what I me. I see you looking in the mirror and remembering a post or three you wrote that fits into the “Wouldn’t it be nice if….” category. Yes, I admit it. I have written a few of them myself.

And here’s the funny thought. A few of them….well let me demonstrate.

“Wouldn’t it be nice if….” TPTB ["The Powers That Be", the people who run Idol] got Adam. Wait! That actually happened:


The occasion: The Idol finale, Adam gets to see We Are The Champions with Queen! But it was a shared performance with Kris Allen. How many fans posted “Wouldn’t it be nice if Adam got to sing solo with Queen.” Wait! That actually happened! And it is going to happen again.

Not only did it happen but Adam got to sing lead for Queen and closed the first night of the most important radio promo concert of the year, the iHeartRadio Music Festival. Oh, and he (and Brian and Roger and the “gentlemen of .fun” stole the show.)

The occasion, Glee season 1, 2, 3 and 4. “Wouldn’t it be nice if Adam got to be on Glee.” “I wish Adam got to be a guest star on Glee.” Etc. for 4 years I read those posts. Wait, that happened too! And not only has Adam been a guest star on Glee, but he also proved he has acting chops, made one of the most memorable guest appearances in Glee history (and that is saying a lot), and he will be on at least 5 episodes, in a part integrated into the storyline.

They have continued on, and on. Check. “Wouldn’t it be nice if Adam got to be on Idol as a guest performer.” Check, Check, Check. “Wouldn’t it be nice if Adam got to be a mentor on Idol.” Check, check. “Wouldn’t it be nice if Adam got to be on the Idol Finale.” Check.

"Wouldn’t it be nice if Adam got to headline his own tour.” Check. “Wouldn’t it be nice if Adam got to tour Asia and Europe.” Check. “Wouldn’t it be nice if Adam went to Australia, New Zealand, South Africa.” Check, Check, Check.

“Wouldn’t it be nice if Adam was recognized by the LBGT community.” Check, Check, Check.

I could go on and on. Some of the things Adam has done and accomplished, I never would have dreamed of. No, I never dreamed I would see Adam perform with Queen, in concert, in London and get rave reviews.

Sure there are still unfulfilled dreams and hopes. Some in the past like “Wouldn’t it be nice if Adam won Idol” that can never happen. And there are many more hopes for the future, most important, the promise of Adam’s third studio album.

But in standing here, looking back over 5 years of Adam. I have learned that many, many of these fan hopes and dreams have come true. And some things we never dreamed of have happened. I have a feeling that this promised “Intense forward motion” is already started behind the scenes and that as it is revealed to all of us we have a few new surprises that we never dreamed could have happened.

In the meantime, I am getting ready for Adam on Idol (2 nights!), Adam on Glee (3 episodes!!), Adam touring with Queen IN THE US!!!, a new album in 2014!!!!! and for whatever he has up his sleeves, under his jackets and hiding in that top hat!

So what are your fan dreams? How would you finish the sentence, “Wouldn’t it be nice if Adam…”? You don’t have to be clever or funny. You don’t need to be wise. You don’t need to be realistic. My only request is you need to have some other wish then “do whatever makes him happy” or “whatever he wants to do.” Because we “all” wish for that.

February 25, 2014 Glee Season premiere - Episode 9: "Frenemies". This is an Adam episode.
In this episode we find ourselves back in both Lima and New York, but not everything is as happy as it seems. Over in Lima, Tina and Artie are competing against each other to get class valedictorian. While over on the New York side, Santana auditions and snags the role as Rachel’s understudy in Funny Girl. causing some tension between the two.

March 4, 2014 Glee Episode 10: “Trio” – Rachel and Elliot (Adam) will have an ‘exciting’ story line and will start a friendship in this episode; while Blaine, Sam, and Tina break into McKinley to pull some senior pranks around the school. Both Demi Lovato (Dani) and Adam Lambert will be returning in this episode and they’ll sing “The Happening” by The Supremes, along with Chris Colfer (Kurt), which will definitely be a must-watch performance....more'

April 1, 2014 Glee Episode 14: "New New York" - Adam/Starchild/Elliott Gilbert will be in the first all New York episode. Plot details unknown.
Adam song: Elliott (Adam Lambert) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) will duet on A Great Big World’s “Rockstar”.

SOONISH: Adam to be guest judge on RuPaul's Drag Race.
