Just throwing this out there - maybe Thursday's announcement is not music related but rather about a fashion or product involvement, hence the Paris trip/tweets/pictures. Is it Thursday yet?

Ok, so the pictures are all about lift off. Drink is set down then raised halfway up and now all the way raised. Blast off. It also reminded me of the GLee Happening where he drinks the martini right up to the time to start singing. Since he is/was out partying then my other pet theory that he might have been working in the Daft Punk studio have been shot down. The remix? Weird shit.

Wow, I just have to process . . .
I feel like Adam's "Glee" appearances are playing a key role in a clinching, a coming together, of things for him - I feel like he's starting to look inevitable, like a "made" man: untouchable.
1). I don't think his reputation for true and incredible talent can ever be even doubted (not that it ever should have been, but, y'know, the "scream" criticism) - and, soon, with the Queen + Adam Lambert dates/tour, that status will be cemented even more in a wider public's eyes. Brian May has made it clear that it is ADAM with whom he wants to take this last "swing." It is an enormous compliment, an enormous show of support - and May has been giving that support to Adam, really, ever since his "Adam's voice turns me into jelly" quote about "Time for Miracles." He and Roger and Adam have come together so beautifully, so mutually respectfully, on all sides, of where each one is in their careers. I keep flashing back to Brian offering his arm to Adam (Adam in his furry, red Elmo) - and I can't help but think, there's all kinds of love, and that Brian May loves him.
2). I don't think Adam's ability to rain down debilitating simultaneous cuteness/sexiness can be ignored. Every single shot of him in "Trio" is either "aw, "unf," or - usually - both. And the same is true every time he's on teevee. Yes, he was loved as an "Idol" contestant, but now more and more he is known and loved as Adam Lambert. Period. Singer, actor, personality.
3). I don"t think his PROFESSIONALISM and professional courteousness and generosity can be questioned. His AMA performance is finally able to be seen by anyone in PERSPECTIVE. Adam overcoming the ridiculousness that ensued from that, IMO, is like the challenge an epic hero overcomes before greatness: it was the symbol AND the reality of bigotry. And he's HeWhoCannot ameded it HIS way.
Adam balances on a couple of different tightropes so perfectly, IMO. Just - congratulations to him, and kudos to Ryan Murphy as well as all the talented young people on "Glee" who are neither jealous or begrudging, who just enjoyed "kicking ass," performing with him.
And now, Queen! And, soon - in GOOD time, IMO, with the public and Clear Channel radio WELL-readied for him - Adam's new music.
I think Adam still is - oh, I don't know - maybe 20 - 30% "wild man," and WILL do things that momentarily panic some fans - I think that's an essential part of who he is as an artist, as a person - BUT I think it is full-speed ahead time on his "path to greatness" (is that what Paula called it?), to being ICONIC.
(Knock wood, that is. I don't want to jinx him.)

I've listened to LMD remix ... sounds like 6 songs playing at the same time ... it's awful! Avicii can do whatever he likes with his songs , that doesn't mean I'm going to like it.

It is bigger than a great voice, a sexy presence, a lovely persona. It is all that and yet ICONIC is more than the sum of the parts. To me it implies someone who creates a paradigm shift. Adam's journey is the journey of the HERO who overcomes and triumphs and creates a new order in the process.

Ya, we have to remember it's his album to remix as he wishes. I usually like remixes. But this one is bad, for me. Even if you take out what he did to Adam's vocals, where is Nile's funky guitar? Gone! If Adam wasn't the singer, I'd still say, "WTF?!" But I am guessing I am not his target audience.

I'm not saying that I like it. Hell no! But telling that this is disrespect for Adam or something like that is IMHO inappropriate and in reality showing disrespect for Avicii.
