Thanks Cassie! So it seems that it's the nature of singing to always have vibrato.. in varying degrees. Not necessarily. Especially if the singer has no formal training. But, accomplished singers are able to use vibrato to enrich their performances. In many styles, the singer doesn't want the listener to NOTICE the vibrato, but rather, just to like the richness or beauty of the tone. Done right, the listener won't think, "Wow, hear that vibrato! It's really good (or bad)." Of course, accomplished singers will notice it as part of technique (or lack of it). Hence, Carnie's comment.

Your choice of adjectives Cassie could not have been more accurate. I found her hard to like. In the seasons I watched ...Rachel has always been self- centered. Not as explosively bitchy as now.. just exasperatingly...totally self -centered. Racheal has always been a pain in the ass character with a great voice. And Santana has always been hard, bitchy and downright mean. Glee is satire. And if you are unsure about this, check out Sue. Or Emma. Seriously. I do not believe this show or its characters were ever meant to be taken seriously. However, underneath the satire of how awful high school is, the show does deal with some touchy modern subjects like bullying, LBGTQ lifestyle challenges, mentally challenged individuals, severe OCD (Emma), teen pregnancy (Quinn). Oh, and the SINGING. The singing makes it all completely and appropriately cheesy. And Santana's legs. Love that girl's legs. And now Adam. There's a reason to stayed tuned. Santana was one of the 3 very popular cheerleader girls in HS that was constantly working with Sue to take down the New Directions glee club. Santana even joined the glee club, making friends with members, but secretly working from within to destroy the glee club. Really, given their past history, it is very understandable that Rachel does not trust Santana's motives.

I couldn't detect any, at least in the parts I paid attention to.. I'll have to watch that video you posted tomorrow when I'm less tired and maybe that will help me understand it better.

LOL I think all the ad hoc (aka not Pamela Landsbury ones) performances on Glee have Adam hanging off something and standing/sitting on counters or tables...
Loved the NY bits of this show FF'd through the Lima bits. Songs rocked (even that lame ones) Adam showed his acting chops - nice to see.
Will have to watch again to be more coherent but all kinds of Win! Now bring on Thursday...
