Ah, you are simply the best:))) That is the most infuriating rhetorical device! I hate it, but I think only because I can't outspeak people who use it. I need lessons:) I can pay you in lavish compliments and gratitude:))) I will also accept payment in the Serbian equivalent of brownies. You can mail them in a can. My mom said that's how she used to send treats to her brothers when they were overseas during WWII.  P.S. Pecans are a bit like walnuts if you have those. They are not as big but somewhat similar in taste. I do make a mean baklava. It's made with walnuts and insane amounts of sugar, so it is positively yummylicious! Btw, so sneaky of you to pull the 'WWII mom sending treats to brothers' card just to get a piece of my candy:) I thought I could get away with just a few well-placed compliments:))) |

Aplologies if this has been answered but just got back from a month speaking on cruise ships & am stressing, like many fans, about the upcoming ticket purchases. I hadn't renewed my AdamOfficial membership as there seemed no point. I can still log into the site but I don't see anywhere where I can renew and pay for a current membership so as to get the Code tomorrow morning. I leave for work in an hour and won't be home until late so hoping very much to get this taken care of before then. Now for the second part of the talon-Q3 posts....
For starters, I think Trespassing was a success. Got excellent reviews (in the US) and was a #1 album US and Canada. It just did not get label support. We do not know what worldwide sales of Trespassing are but we do know sold Trespassing sold 185,000 US only as of July 2013. It sold around 30K in Canada. It charted in 29 countries -- #1 is a few. So probably around 300,000 worldwide.
His first album, FYE, was promoted and got radio support sold about 2 million worldwide, and has 3 hit singles. And had a huge presale.
If Adam chooses to put out a mainstream pop album, and if it is properly promoted and has a promoted single in the US, I think he should will sell 200,000 units in the US week 1. (And assuming the US market for recorded music still exists in Fall 2014 when I think the album will be out.)

In the current market, the hardest one may be the last one. It is hard to sell recorded music in 2014. Adam wants to be a mainstream pop star. He wants to break through on US CHR radio completely. I think he has a good shot this time. But the planets need to align for that to happen. I had to log in just for this. Do you really think he still wants this? I'm just guessing myself, but I wonder if all these "side by side projects" are really what he wants and being a "pop star" is a means to that end. He seems more centered on what he wants and who he is more today than ever. If his music lands on top 40 radio, all the better it'll keep the stream of offers going. from even recent interviews it is still obvious that Adam would love.really like to be on top 40 radio. He may be satisfied if that does not happen but I think he wants to be remembered for more hits than WWFM on the radio. I think he is also realistic and knows that it is hard to have a 'hit' these days unless you are among the chosen few. |
