In answer to your question of the DAY Q3, I have NOT seen Adam this happy in a long time. I also haven't seen him be so forthright and real in a press conference in a long time. Sure there were the standard, I am honored to be asked, etc.. but he's comfortable with this tour. It's a month, or two, and it will be awesome! We will be frantically hunting for more tickets for more shows because this is just the perfect marriage of the greatest voice on the planet with the most unique, artistic, iconic band that has ever existed. I am happy. I believe this was organic. Both sides have made sacrifices, both sides will benefit, both sides have risks. I am just going to enjoy it. And , also, I think part of Adam's happiness is that A3 is going VERY WELL. I am done with my rant now.. Thank for posting an answer to my question! And I agree -- he seems to just be happy about everything! Queen, his own music included.

I just wanna be happy about Queen and Adam touring. This is a full-tilt, pull out all the stops tour. It makes me sad to keep chewing on that old piece of rawhide about Adam's past albums today. Discouraging to see replaying this past garbage over and over again. What happened, happened. Done. Finito. I had a hell of a good time with both albums and still listen to them. And that A3 will or will not be a huge success. It hasn't happened yet. Queen IS happening. That's where my focus is. A3 will get here when it gets here. For one day, can't we just be happy? This tour is huge, I get to go, I don't have to stress about tickets as the venues are large. What could be better than this??? Maybe brownies with pecans..got more? #beggingforchocolate Grouch will leave now.. Amen sister!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And definitely pecans.
And another vote for pecans!

I love this quote and seems to echo sentiment that Adam made at the press conference about dealing with "haters" : "When people try to tell you who you are, don’t believe them. You are the only custodian of your own integrity, and the assumptions made by those that misunderstand who you are and what you stand for reveal a great deal about them and absolutely nothing about you"Author Phillip Roth I LOVE this!!!

While no one knows what makes a song/album "successful" I think the music itself is the least important ingredient unfortunately. (Had it been of any importance the top hits would not be what they are). I learned that the push to the radio IS important and we all know TP (a brilliant, forward looking album) had none behind it. I am sure A3 will be brilliant as well (said the person who can't listen to anyone but Adam ) . I can only hope the new label will do its job. God knows Adam is doing everything possible to make it easy for them to "push"...
You are probably right re "finding a niche" but boy do I not want Adam to stick to one type of music! (as selfish as it is)..it would be tragic...
Staying pretty quiet on all this because not really that invested in the whole A + Queen event (happy for others to and am sure it would be different if I was able to attend a show - not ruling it out but not likely right now). But on the whole niche thing. Don't see any way Adam would even do that. I don't think he's genetically encoded to embrace samedom. Just look at the spread of things he chooses as covers in his shows. Like any musician what he puts out is at least in part an expression of where he is at that point in time. Wishing for him to be the male equivalent of Pink doesn't mean that is how A sees himself. He is a singer. He likes to play and stretch and explore his voice and what it can do. I have no idea what direction A3 will take. I might like it, I might not (there are more than a few tracks from both FYE and Tresspassing that I can happily leave in my iTunes archives). One thing is sure, I will love the voice even if I don't like the music. In general music seems all over the place right now with a big element of lightening in a bottle at play (Lorde anyone). There is a huge element of luck in all this and the only thing I feel relatively sure of is that Adam has good people behind him (finally) is systematically preparing himself to take advantage of any good luck and be positioned to move past any bad luck. #happyticketflailing #goodluck Nica575 "...but boy do I not want Adam to stick to one type of music! (as selfish as it is)..it would be tragic... " I do not think that it is possible for Adam to do one type of music. He didn't in 2005, he didn't in 2009 and he didn't on his albums. To quote Simon, "Does a cow moo?" *** bridgeymah -- I love your response about Adam and music. It is pretty much what I was planning to write. Adam creates music that interests him, that stretches him and challenges him. For me, I like most of it but not all. There are a few tracks from both albums that I skip. And there are bonus tracks that I love (why are Voodoo and Runnin' bonus tracks??)

No it's not. A lot of people take the Amtrak train. However, the concert site is a bit closer to Baltimore. Here's what their site says.
MERRIWEATHER POST PAVILION IS LOCATED AT 10475 LITTLE PATUXENT PARKWAY COLUMBIA, MD 21044
BWI TRAIN STATION BWI train station services Amtrak and MARC trains. These trains come from all over the Eastern Seaboard, places like New York, Boston and Newport News, Virginia. From the BWI train station there is a connection on the Howard County Transit (Silver Line) that will take you to the Mall in Columbia, which is a convenient walk from Merriweather Post Pavilion. For more information and schedules for connections from BWI Train station please visit: www.howardtransit.com/
Thank you! OK. Amtrank is a train. Are they expensive in US? Because I would love to visit Washington. US Trains are not that expensive but since the distances are long some trips are cheaper to fly. If you avoid rush hour, the fare are reasonable. I love trains but some of the US train systems should be avoided. The best train system is between Boston, MA and Washington DC. There are commuter trains and AMTRAK trains. Best to start by looking at AMTRAK www.amtrak.com/rail-passesDepending what you want to do, a Rail Pass may be the best thing to purchase. (Just like in the UK and Europe.) Thank you Q3!

Just wondering, would it make sense for Adam to release a new single near the end of the Queen tour? Sooner might be confusing but if done at the end he could benefit from the exposure and publicity? Be nice to have a single out in July then album release in Sept/Oct.

Honestly, I don't see Adam being good for 10K tickets at a US venue. That is a huge amount. Seriously...there's NO WAY Adam could sell out 5,000-10,000 seat US venue...if he could then why in the hell is he touring with Queen? No offense to Queen---they're great-awesome --iconic---but I think Adam would much rather be touring as Adam Lambert then Queen with Adam Lambert..... Doesn't make any sense-----there's no way Adam could sell that many tickets---if so, then he would had most definitely had a TP tour---if he could sell out a 10k venue then he wouldn't IMO need to tour with Queen.
