It sort of cracks me up that they are marking up "seats" on the lawn -- it's "bring your own blanket". BTW, you can hear the concert without actually getting into the show. The "neighbors" complained for years about the noise. Cracks me up -- Merriweather was there before most of the "neighbors" bought near by. Yes that is really funny. but for out of towners like me ,what do I know  I have 4 seats in center Q.. I hope I like Merriweather.. Have you been thereC.C.C.C?? Yes! Worked at PaineWebber right across the street. One warning about Columbia, everything is sort of hidden down in the parks and trails. Best to park across the street at the Mall and walk across Little Patuxent Pkwy to the Pavillion. I saw a few concerts there but I was younger and broker and never got great seats. I was inside the Pavillion for Joni Mitchell, CSNY and Willie Nelson (Blue Skies). The sound is good under the roof. If you are on the lawn, you really can't see a thing. Someone up the thread nailed it on the head with their various lawn experiences. I have to tell you I was really surprised when I heard they were playing at Merriweather. It always seemed a little rustic and quaint to me. It's been years since I've been there so maybe things are different. Although, when I looked at recent pics to see what had changed, everything looked pretty much the same. |

Nine days. Nine days!
Nine days since GMA and the press conference announcing the tour.
I've spent nearly every moment for the past nine days checking, planning, phoning, emailing, cataloging, sorting, upgrading, changing, reserving, and buying!
This needs to stop because I think I've done it all!!
In the settling dust, I see a few tickets I can provide for others at face value. If any of these will work for you, please PM me and we'll figure out the details.
Las Vegas Sunday, July 6th - Gold Circle Row EE, Seat 18 (it's in the Center, 5th row) Cost was $495 (printed on ticket). I have the ticket, downloaded from AXS.
Forum, LA, on Thursday, July 3 - Floor Section E, Row 9, Seat 10. Cost $390 (printed on ticket). Also have this ticket in hand.
Merriweather July 20 - Pavilion seat Fan Package Center Row U, Seat 111. Comes with the Fan Package goodies. My cost, with service fee and processing, was $249. I have the printed receipt; ticket needs to be picked up at Will Call before the performance.
This makes me a perfect example of Q3's Adam Fan #9! I think I fit just about every other category, too! I am so excited for Adam - and us! I'll treasure the times to come for the rest of my life.

Gee...this chart is based on max capacity. Behind the stage seats etc are not sold, so the gross revenues will be highly over estimated by this concept/data collection process. Once the attendance is announced ...they could adjust their numbers. ....... But did they compute the Queen / Rogers concert incorrectly as well? As an example ....Rhianna sold 13,500 ish in a 19,000 plus arena in Calgary. ITA. It would be interesting to follow the development of audiences but adjustments are needed towards the real capacity with their set configuration. Also lots of questions on how the average ticket price is determined - I think that's even more difficult to estimate. True that we can make only rough estimates but there's too little info there of the methods used. I believe something like that could be done as for attendances - but the money will remain too much like a shot in the dark to display in this form. |
