I'll let the more knowledgeable reply to your post, aleks, and comment to a couple of details only. 'we know' = assumption (we really don't know who asked who, it's based on discussions IMO) Brian said he wanted MSG and The Forum (not The Joint) Label has nothing to do with tours (the promoters do most of the work with venues and logistics) Yes, the Forum, sorry. If Adam said himself that they had agreed, I don't think there can be much doubt left on who invited whom. Maybe 'invite' is not the right word, maybe the better phrasing would be 'who made the first step towards putting into realization something Adam and Brian and Roger had already discussed among themselves'. Okay, labels have nothing to do with tours, but maybe Adam's new label gave him an incentive, concurring that the tour would be a wise idea, strategically speaking? Just speculating:)))

gosh, these media articles, while positive, mix timing and sentiment. Adam may have been apprehensive a few years ago when they did the Europe/UK mini tour but not now.
Also, in terms of how done the album is, it's hard to reconcile Adam's letter about the break with RCA and saying he was 'deep into the writing of it' or something like that, vs embryonic recently. I wonder if there would be any leftover rock songs from TP since it sounds like he had 50 songs and then changed direction. I doubt he would go backward, but I'm still amazed at what becomes a radio hit.... statistically not a high chance. Although your chances are certainly increased if you have the voice and right collaborators.

I must have missed something because I don't remember Adam saying he is writing in Sweden. He seemed to emphasize recording and producing. "Killin it!" I also do not remember him saying he was taking his time. I remember him saying it often, for Trespassing, but for this album, I do not remember this at all. About Sweden, I think Adam has actually said himself only that I'm working on it There are a lot of producers in Sweden Killin the studio I don't think anyone knows but I assume at least some of the songs were also written in Stockholm. If all the songs were ready and chosen before going to Sweden in Feb, would it take two months in studio to record the vocals? Sure he wants to be hands on with the production too, but still. About taking his time, I think I remember that being said once sometime during the last two months, but it came from the interviewer and he responded with yeah and proceeded to talk about something more general about his music and working on it. MAybe someone remembers where this was from? All in all, lots of assuming going on... There are very few facts and I'm hoping we'll get some more info soon. He's been there since Feb 13th, so he just finished a month, taking out a few days for NYC.

Sorry for quoting this long post in its entirety, but I have a feeling that deleting any of Q3's words would lead to shrivelling and eventual falling off of my metaphorical balls;) So: If we assume that he signed the major label in January, is it possible that the Adam+Queen tour is their master plan? The timing would fit. Also, we know from that interview, when Adam said that they had agreed, that the invitation had come from Adam's team? Also, Brian said that they had asked for MSG and that other venue, the Joint, so can we assume that only a major label could procure such venues? Provided that the labels are those who book venues, of course, which I don't know, maybe management teams do that. Also, if Adam got signed by a major label, that would be the most logical step, the most efficient way of bringing him back into the limelight - capitalizing on the natural progression of the artistic renaissance between Adam and Queen... And if it happens that Adam and Queen share the label, it's a win-win situation for it. Although I doubt he is going to release a single in the spring, and if he did, the pause between the single release and the album would maybe be too long, it would maybe be better to do so, for a couple of reasons: it would emphasize Adam's own recording career and make a clear distinction between him as a solo artist and him as a temporary Queen frontman, plus they could use the Tour to promote it. On the other hand, that single would be, at least subconsciously, compared to Queen material and I cannot imagine him promoting a dance track, for example, in that context. I don't know. That's why I think it would be best for him to do his best with Queen, and then release the single in autumn, while the media are still in the post-orgasmic bliss... I deleted my LOOOOOOONG post.... Yes, my belief is this is synergy. A masterplan that is a WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN - Adam - well duh! He is the front man for a band that has a soon to be sold out, class A arena, US tour. It will generate buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz and news and radio promo opportunities from now until the end of July. WIN - Queen - I love Queen. Adam has sparked new interest in Queen. And I am comparing this tour to Queen, not Q+PR. WIN - The Queen songs, these gorgeous songs that many people have never actually heard. Yes, every breathing person over 5 can probably sing WWRY and WATC. But neither are not on must Queen fans' favorite song lists. WIN - UMG - In December 2013, they signed the worldwide deal for the Queen catalog and for new Queen releases. That is why Brian and Roger are talking up the old material in the vault. >> Prediction: If QAL makes the impact I except them to make -- that is rave reviews and music sales -- expect to see them do some high profile dates in Japan and Europe (UK, France, and Germany/Austria makes sense to me because these are the big music sales markets). WIN - UMG - Because we "know" they have signed Adam. WIN - music fans 1 - Because we get "Queen" rebooted with a great frontman, and it will be new and different. WIN - music fans 2 - Because we will get a well funded A3 done with a proper creative and production budget. ** On the single --- they have bridged the gap with released to keep people interested in Adam -- LifeBall, LMD album track, Glee releases. I wonder if they might release another interim track. AVICII is on UMG/Island, and that make LMD still a possible release. Several singles are expected from his album. They could do a charity single or a QAL single or something else. ** Whatever else, I doubt that they will have Adam release a single in April, album in June and tour with Queen in June-July then come back add try to promote the album in September. We all know how well that worked for Trespassing. (The schedule is not the only reason Trespassing was an orphan, but the schedule was a mess. I added a few of their misses to add perspective.) December 20, 2011: Lame single #1 released with NO PROMO $$ during US radio freeze (I hate RCA, BTIKM <<< WWFM and no $$$ and in December, you cheapskates! My only thought is that they hoped it would go viral because Adam is so big online.*) February 3, 2012: BTIKM music video released. (Song is DOA and they still are wasting "Adam's" money.) April 14, 2012: NCOE Bruno Mars reject-track retread as synthpop released as single #2 -- melody and vocals not even arranged for Adam and they MODDED his vocals! MORONS! (I really hate RCA, wasted promo $$$ and inadequate budget.) [Are there any Adam fans who love Bruno Mars? If there is one genre that Adam does not choice to explore is it Adult R&B.] May 15, 2012: Album released May 29, 2012: NCOE Music video released June 30, 2012 - July 14, 2012: QAL mini- tour with 6 dates. September 5, 2012 - Trespassing released as a single. At this point there was no effort from RCA to promote it. * Lame stuff that does not involve piano playing kittens or naked people does not go viral. Look at YouTube. The only way this would have worked would be to release something like Trespassing or Naked Love with a video of Adam performing it mostly naked. Or <shock> with women <which I do not think he would do>.

Just speculating:))) You might be right but I keep thinking this would be something that Queen would initiate since the whole show would be at their expense and responsibility to produce and they would have to really want to do this especially since they are not in their youth. I think they wanted this 'one last short concert tour' because they were confident they had the right frontman to bring their music to life again for a new generation of fans.

Yes and he said the press conference day that he'll go back to Sweden for the next month or so (I took it to mean a few weeks in March). Maybe in the end it amounts to 6-7 weeks but whatever, we'll see.
