Q3 has repeated said... [Yipes am I that repetitive!?!?] 1. Merriweather is a great venue, rated by Rolling Stone as the #4 outdoor venue in the US. It will be rocking show. And the has not enforced the no tailgating rule in the past so people do tailgate there. 2. Merriweather will not be the end of this tour. I posted that before the tickets went on sale and the concert turned out to be one of the hottest of the summer. I think it is more certain now with the ticket sales and additional date leaks. ***** I think this tour could go into August. >> I assume that MSG got a window where they owned metro NY. Similarly the Forum would have gotten a guarantee for SoCal. Since MSG is sold out (maybe), then at some point they could add NY shows. It they are planning on adding the North Jersey and the CT shoes. That leaves them in NYC metro on July 25th. >> A wacky thought -- if they have the balls to do it -- Lallopalooza is on Aug 1-3, 2014. Black Sabbath made a huge impact there last year. It would be a way to go out is true Queen style. I do not think this is happening but I plan to go and now I am worried about the dreaded concert-plan-overlap. They expect 300,000 people this year. JMHO take it will a huge lump of salt. If they want to add a mid-west venue might I suggest Red Rocks Ampitheatre. Would be epic (though at only 10k capacity maybe not big enough)... BUT watching Queen and Adam with the sun setting behind the stage would be a thing of wonder.

So, I 'm having my daily "drive and chat" with my dh and, of course, "our" Adam comes up. I told him that it looks like Merriweather might not be the last stop for the tour. I went on to say that it never made sense to me that they'd close the tour there -- outside, humid weather, usual thunderstorms -- you know all the usual summer stuff. As I'm going on and on, he starts singing, "thunder and lightning, very, very frightening, Galileo, Galileo, Galileo....." It just cracked me up -- one of his more subtle ways to change the subject -- I can go on and on. So, we also were discussing Max Martin and he starts going off a little on the pop angle and I started explaining the points that I could recall from Q3's post. As we're talking along about radio play it dawns on me that "radio" is just a big dog show. Dog shows are hardly ever about the dog. They are mainly about the handler that brings the dog to the show. If a judge can't make up their minds, it's been known quite generally that they'll look up the lead to see who is showing the dog. If there are two equal dogs in the ring, the one that usually gets picked for the win is the one who has the best known handler at the end of the lead. So, it looks like Adam has figured that out. He's walking into the ring with Max Martin. The industry may be able to dismiss Adam but they'll have a very hard time passing over Max Martin. He's already brought too much into the ring for them to ignore. Hope people don't get turned off from buying tickets to what should be a great show at Merriweather.. Not the first outdoor venue for a concert,Summertime brings loads of folks to outdoor events..My family and I are going happily to a beautiful Merriweather come rain or shine.. Melliemom - I'm a local and have been there many times. ALWAYS had a blast and the atmosphere is great and all that. It's like a festival being outside and all. But, the weather in DC is ALWAYS a factor. It will be hot and muggy and there will probably be a chance of a thunderstorm. It never stops anything and it blows over FAST. I remember Joni Mitchell up there commenting on how "swampy" it felt. Just dress for it and everything will be fine. Heck, look at all the lawn seats that are sold out. People just go prepared, that's all. My comment about this being the last stop was more about the size of the venue, not the venue itself. You'll have a memorable time - it's Adam. p.s. I thought all the seats underneath have been sold and most of the lawn, right?

mmadamimadamm @mmadamimadamm 16m Adam at 0.26 RT @_coma_berenices: Top 10 Results -- MK Nobilette's Idol Journey - AMERICAN IDOL SEASON XIII
Don't want to sidetrack the thread, but yeah I'm still watching Idol & of course I was routing for MK but let's face it, she is a great singer but she's not a "performer". Nobody has the "IT" factor that Adam has. If his career keeps going on its current track, he's going to be the absolute biggest star to come off this show!

Regarding the QAL tour -- I can come up with lots of ideas -- but I did not guess they might do a second show at Mohegan Sun.
They will not be playing Russia or Eastern Europe or the Middle East. I doubt they would move a big show to South American right now. That leaves ending it in North America, Japan or Western Europe. Or maybe the last concert would be Queen's first concert in Shanghai?
NYC to London for final show.
NYC then Asia -- Tokyo and Shanghai.
Maybe an epic show in Europe.
They could end it in Merriweather and be done. But my stomach says no, my heart says no.
I just have a feeling that they will end this with some meaning -- and that kind of says somewhere at home in the UK, or somewhere special.

I've always wanted to go there and, even though the drive would be about the same as to Chicago, I have friends in western NE that I could join on the way there and not have to take my (old) car any farther. So now I have a new dream...LOL!

:D Absolutely! I LOVE driving to it!
I LOVE driving to DSMN too! But when I'm driving to it, I have to lower the volume a bit, because there's a connection between the song, high volume and the accelerator .. LOL
