Billboard Confirms Adam and Max Martin Have Hooked Up for New Album
Adam Lambert Working With Max Martin on New Album
By Jason Lipshutz, N.Y.

The former "Idol" finalist has headed to Sweden to work on new music with the veteran pop expert.
Adam Lambert's third studio album -- his first since leaving RCA Records last summer -- is currently being worked on by pop super-producer Max Martin, and a handful of ace songwriters, in Sweden.
Martin, who has helmed pop smashes from Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Maroon 5, Justin Bieber and countless other mainstream superstars, co-produced two songs for Lambert's 2009 debut album "For Your Entertainment," including the hit single "Whataya Want From Me." Martin did not contribute to Lambert's sophomore album "Trespassing," which debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart in 2012, but the "American Idol" finalist is linking back up with Martin for the follow-up.
"[Martin] just brought in a load of people that he trusts and that make good music, and just seeing what happens," U.K. singer-songwriter Joe Janiak, who recently co-wrote Ellie Goulding's "Divergent" soundtrack single "Beating Heart," tells Billboard. Janiak, a London native, was called to come out to Sweden early last week and work with a collection of song experts that was organized by Martin. "He's got a company which really focuses on getting the best young writers and getting them all together in one place, so that they can have a hotbed of creativity and spin ideas off of each other," Janiak adds of Martin.
One of the songwriters who has shared studio time with Lambert is Tove Lo, a Swedish artist who is currently making an impression in the U.S. with her debut EP, "Truth Serum." "He came to Sweden, he's been working with all the producers, the little collective out there, and having a really good time," Tove Lo tells Billboard of Lambert. "When you hear the fully produced stuff from the studio, that's one thing, but his voice is insane. I couldn't believe it."
Released in May 2012, "Trespassing" became Lambert's first No. 1 album, and has sold 192,000 copies to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Last July, Lambert left his longtime label, RCA Records, claiming that RCA wanted his next release to be a covers album.
In between full-length projects, Lambert has appeared on "Glee" and planned a summer arena tour with Queen, serving as the frontman of the legendary rock troupe. After Queen + Adam Lambert headlined the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas last September, the collaboration will play 19 North American shows beginning June 19 in Chicago.
There is no timetable for Lambert's next record, but Janiak says that Martin and co. have been able to conjure some special moments in the studio. "I think there are going to be big things on this record, because the focus is on really strong songwriting and performance and stuff like that," says Janiak. "They're really locking in on all of [Lambert's] strong points and just making him even better. I think that's definitely going to be an exciting one."

Queen + Adam Lambert – Are Bands Still the Same With New Members?
By Justin Louis March 20, 2014
If you haven’t guessed by now, the point of this is debating the addition of Adam Lambert to Queen.
Queen, fronted by the incomparable Freddie Mercury, were one of the biggest bands in the world during their glory years in the late 70s and 80s. When Freddie died of AIDS-related complications in 1991, most figured that, with him, the band Queen died as well.
Bassist John Deacon officially retired from music shortly after, leaving only two original members – guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor.
They’ve done a few one-off performances with high profile singers for benefit concerts and festivals (one of my very favorite performances was with British singer Tom Chaplin in 2010). They also took Paul Rodgers on a number of performances, but that played to mixed reviews at best.
After first playing with Brian May and Roger Taylor during the American Idol finale, it seemed like Adam Lambert had some chemistry with the surviving members of the band.
About a year ago, rumors started to swirl that Adam would be officially joining Brian and Roger for a full tour, but those rumors were quickly shot down by Adam himself.
Flash forward about a year, and the rumor became reality. Adam will officially be going on tour with Brian and Roger this summer. If you needed an indication of whether the public will buy into the “Queen + Adam Lambert” idea, the Madison Square Garden show sold out within minutes of going on sale.
Going back to the original question – can you still call the band “Queen” without, literally, the most vocal member of the band? I have to say yes, it’s fair game. Brian May and Roger Taylor have families to feed and they’re career musicians. Would you expect them to retire because two of their original bandmates are no longer a part of the group?
As far as “replacing Freddie” is concerned. Let’s be honest about one thing:
Nobody will ever replace Freddie Mercury.
Not vocally, not personality wise, and not his place in the band. But if a talented singer can bring Freddie, Brian, Roger, and John’s music to a new generation of fans, I say go for it.

90 days to go…
3.21.14 by Q3
There are 90 days until Chicago…so I thought I would start a countdown. And since I am counting down to the Queen + Adam Lambert Tour!! What could be betterer than possible songs for Queen and Adam to perform in concert?
Assuming they change out a few songs during the tour, and do 22 – 24 unique songs a night (excluding the guitar and drum solos), there could be around 30 songs performed in these concerts. And hopefully, I get a lot of them in my countdown. But that won’t be easy -- the Queen catalog is so big, the potential cover list is almost a universe, and there is a chance that they could also decide to perform an Adam song.
#90 “Queen - Don't Stop Me Now” (1979)
Written by Freddie Mercury. Recorded in 1978, released in 1979.
I dedicate today’s song in the countdown to Adam Lambert. I am making it Adam’s “theme song” for the next few days.
This is the first countdown entry that Adam performed with Queen. It was performed at all 6 of the 2012 concerts:
• HMV Hammersmith Apollo, London, England on July 14, 2012
• HMV Hammersmith Apollo, London, England on July 12, 2012
• HMV Hammersmith Apollo, London, England on July 11, 2012
• Stadion Miejski, Wrocław, Poland on July 7, 2012
• Olympijskiy Stadium, Moscow, Russia on July 3, 2012
• Independence Square, Kiev, Ukraine on June 30, 2012
Queen + Adam Lambert in Kiev, Ukraine
The first performance of DSMN by Queen with Adam.
Queen+Adam Lambert - Don't Stop Me Now in London (Day 3)
This was the 6th performance of DSMN by Queen with Adam. July 14, 2012 at the Hammersmith, London. The audience joined in for this song at all three London concerts and everyone had a great time during this song. By the third night in London, Adam was having so much fun with this song, that it is hard not to smile when you watch it.
In 2009, in the aftermath of the OUT Editorial and the AMA furor, WWFM seemed like the perfect song for the moment. Today, in the wake of the Queen + Adam Lambert Tour announcement, Max Martin Song Camp, glorious GLEE, and the start of “intense forward motion”, this song and these lyrics seem like the perfect theme for Adam.
Not only does the theme and attitude of this song suit Adam, but Freddie's lyrics are just perfect!
I would like to suggest a small lyrics change to the underlined section....
Don't Stop Me Now
Tonight I'm going to have myself a real good time
I feel alive
And the world turning inside out, yeah
And floating around in ecstasy, so
Don't stop me now
Don't stop me
Because I'm having a good time, having a good time
I'm a shooting star leaping through the sky
Like a tiger defying the laws of gravity
I'm a racing car passing by like Lady Godiva
I'm going to go, go, go
There's no stopping me
I'm burning through the sky, yeah
Two hundred degrees,
That's why they call me Mr. Fahrenheit
I'm traveling at the speed of light
I want to make a supersonic man out of you
Don't stop me now
I'm having such a good time
I'm having a ball
Don't stop me now
If you want to have a good time
Just give me a call
Don't stop me now
Because I'm having a good time
Don't stop me now
Yes I'm having a good time
I don't want to stop at all, yeah
I'm a rocket ship on my way to Mars
On a collision course
I am a satellite, I'm out of control
I am a sex machine ready to reload
Like an atom bomb about to
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, explode
I'm burning through the sky, yeah
Two hundred degrees
That's why they call me Mr. Fahrenheit
I'm traveling at the speed of light
I want to make a supersonic woman of you
Don't stop me, don't stop me
Don't stop me, hey, hey, hey!
Don't stop me, don't stop me
Don't stop me, have a good time
Good time, don't stop me
Don't stop me, ah!
I'm burning through the sky, yeah
Two hundred degrees
That's why they call me Mr. Fahrenheit
I'm traveling at the speed of light
I want to make a supersonic man out of you
Don't stop me now
I'm having such a good time
I'm having a ball
Don't stop me now
If you want to have a good time
Just give me a call
Don't stop me now
Because I'm having a good time
Don't stop me now
Yes I'm having a good time
I don't want to stop at all
Q3's Lyrics Modification
I'm a rocket ship on my way to Mars
On a collision course
I am a satellite, I'm out of control
I am a sex machine ready to reload
Like an ADAM bomb about to
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, explode

Background on “Don’t Stop Me Now”
"Don't Stop Me Now" is a 1979 song by English rock group Queen, featured on their 1978 album Jazz. Written by vocalist Freddie Mercury, it was recorded in August/September 1978 at Super Bear Studios in Berre-les-Alpes (Alpes-Maritimes), France, and is the twelfth track on the album.
Musically, the song is based around Mercury's piano playing, with John Deacon and Roger Taylor providing a bass guitar and drums backing track. The song also provides an example of Queen's trademark style of multitrack harmony vocals for the chorus lines.
On the studio version, Brian May's only guitar playing is in his guitar solo, but on live versions performed on the band's 1979 Jazz and Crazy tours, May would also play rhythm guitar throughout the rest of the song to give more of a rock feeling to it. A live version of the song features in the band's 1979 album Live Killers. The song also appears in the band's 1981 compilation album Greatest Hits, and in June 2011, as part of Queen's 40th anniversary celebrations, an old take of the song containing more guitar parts was included on the bonus EP of the re-released and remastered Jazz album.
“Don’t Stop Me Now” reached #9 in the UK charts but only #86 in the US. Viewed at the time of release as one of the lesser songs in the Queen canon, it was only performed live during 1979, with the last performance in the Crazy Tour. Despite this the song has grown in stature with time and has been popularized not only by consistent airplay, but by its use in advertisements, television programmes and films, and through cover versions. It has subsequently become one of Queen's most popular songs. The single also has reachedSilver status in the United Kingdom.
