Ha one of my favorite comments is on the last page by Joey BTU. according to the person in 2012 the already was an heir apparent and it wasnt Adam.
LOL.. even before I went to the last page of the comments I knew who he's talking about. Obviously Joey have never heard about the EMA MTV performance. And at the same time QE's started touring the US.
I heard QE has 3 singers on every performance and Jeff Soto is one of them and he is the one who gets to sing the more rock songs from Queen catalogue.
What is interesting is that Jeff Soto went to the Queen+Adam Lambert shows in London and tweeted that Adam is a legend. Also said he'd be honored to work with Adam. |

To bad Elliot is leaving!!! Elliot and Kurt have a cute friendship. However, even Elliot ships Klaine. Kurt and Blaine are the cutest couple I have ever seen. Not poor Darkness. Justin Hawkins is a huge huge fan of Adam's and they've collaborated together before. One of Justin's songs is on Adam's first album and he wrote additional songs for Adam, and they even wrote one together. Justin was really excited when he heard Adam was going cover this song. Justin also said Adam was one of the few people who could do Queen songs justice.

true. but.. i just don't know. i don't think that someone can come and just sing a The Darkness song, expecting be better or even like the original in quality. Darkness is SO brilliant that if somebody just try do something.. i'll always think it's ... not so good. but yeah, i also like Adam. he's great singer.

Outdated attitudes by most! Now Vegas is where current stars, even Pop and Rock, go to make millions! Residency at a venue is huge now! There is a difference between a residency and building an attraction. An rock festival attraction with amusement rides? *** Setting that aside the gap between the PR about residencies and the reality. Vegas casinos are trying really hard to stay relevant and book relevant artists. But....there is a gap there too. In residence in Las Vegas... Britney Spears (on break but coming back) Elton John (touring now but coming back) Taylor Hicks The Jacksons Guns N' Roses (The Joint at the Hard Rock) Olivia Newton-John Tool (mini residency in-Donny and Marie Osmondfill at Hard Rock) Donny and Marie Osmond Boyz II Men Meat Loaf Rod Stewart Tim McGraw and Faith Hill I do not see a lot/any current acts doing residencies in Vegas. But there is a lot of press about it -- mostly associated with Britney Spears. But "every" major tour does stop in Vegas for a concert. Gaga, Katy, JT, etc. Bruno Mars!! He has an in and out residency. Certain weekends scheduled throughout the year. It IS called a residency, just as Britney's is even though they are only certain weekends throughout the year. The relevance, Q3, is that you specifically said Vegas was a place where acts go to die. And it isn't! As far as building rides & things around a rock festival, I'd say, perhaps they are trying to duplicate what the EDM festivals are doing now! They are huge & several in the world are like going to Disneyland with their all out approach! Checkout Tomorrowland in Belgium which might be the biggest in the world! But you can't go cuz it's SOLD OUT! www.festicket.com/festival/tomorrowland-2014/Unless I am missing something here, Q3, it is a 4 day event! IDG what the problem is? According to the event's director of marketing Agatha Areas, the festival is expected to set up at a permanent venue dubbed City of Rock, which would hold 80,000 people during each day of the four-day fest. A roster of 70 artists are expected for the bill.

Here is what I posted: The 4-day Rock in Rio event is attached to a big development project that they are trying to build in Vegas. The big development is what bothered me. Not Rock in Rio. I should have been more specific. I have no problem with the Rock in Rio Festival being in Vegas. Put it at the Speedway, and I am fine. I have no problem with musicians playing Las Vegas. I had a tinge of a sadness at the plan to build this City of Rock complex. The plan is to use the Rock in Rio event to kick it off but then there will be a giant, mega Rock thing in Vegas -- with gaming, and shows, and amusement rides. My original post had nothing to do with Residencies -- or mini-residencies. Nothing at all. *** And yes, I added to the confusion when I responded to your post on residencies without pointing out that it was not my point. *** There is nothing that Bruno Mars or Rihanna or Britney can do that would bother me. If Neil Young took up residency at Caesars, or the Phish moved to the Mirage, that would bother me. Or if they opened up the Deadhead Casino at Luxor, that would bother me. I did not say it was rational, just the way I feel about rock music. |
