OMG! this way I am going to post the whole thread! anyway: Madcap Jester Loyal Viewer Posted Jan 21, 2009 @ 12:18 AM So last year in California, we wound up with Carly Smithson, Michael Johns, and David Archuleta, arguably the three best singers of season seven (excluding the winner). This year, we get Adam Lambert (maybe - he's got great vocal control, but I personally think he really IS too theatrical for Idol) . . . and no one else. Come on, CA, don't tell me you're tapped out already!
Also, I know Adam played Fiyero in Wicked, but was he the main actor or the understudy? Because if he got the chance to star as the male lead for the highest-grossing, most popular musical in the nation and threw it away for Idol, I will never forgive him.
one more: Snaphappy Couch Potato Posted Jan 21, 2009 @ 2:28 AM Ok I finally figured out why Adam is destined to win this whole shebang.
He has great pedigree.
He is what you would end up with if Clay Aiken and David Cook could somehow produce an offspring. Throw in a touch of Constantine's theatrics, and you have yourself a winner my friends.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
and this: WholahayBrown Couch Potato Posted Jan 21, 2009 @ 1:13 PM The second I saw Adam, I thought he'd win. nice: Eponah Fanatic Posted Jan 21, 2009 @ 4:17 PM After seeing some of Adam's vids on youtube, I'm very impressed. He's got great range and stage presence. Maybe some will hate me, but he sortof reminds me of Freddy Mercury, who I absolutely adored.Reviewing these old forum threads are so interesting and fun. If you were there from the beginning it is a trip down memory lane and if you came on board later it gives you a flavor of how it exciting it was from day one and how much energy AI used to have. While it is a bummer that the TWOP is going a way at least they are giving some notice. My first online fandom was Queer as Folk and I posted a lot at a canadian TV website that carried the show and one day why the show was still on the air they just took down all the old QAF threads. I do not remember why, probably too much fight and trolling.

Awww, I loved reading about Freddie's cats. I was especially glad to hear that he made sure they were taken care of after his death because I always worry about animals whose human friends have passed away.

That is one of the saddest things in the world to see - animals (especially older animals) whose owners have died and the poor things wind up in a shelter dazed and confused. And too old to be adopted.

Had to watch Time For Miracles again; I do really enjoy that video and song but then again I am a fan of big screen cheesy disaster/apocalypse movies. I could see QAL doing that song, Adam has sung it live before, but I doubt it because it wouldn't be relevant to either Queen's catalog or Adam's future. I have zero PR credentials, but I have thought about an A3 song and have not decided on the value of that. It might get a little PR but not enough for the introduction of a possible single, I don't think. Maybe a deep album cut similar to his intro of Outlaws of Love. I like that Time for Miracles vid too. The making of is cute: youtu.be/BZfP-RahxmsI think Adam said he thought his own song during QAL didn't feel appropriate (in the Lance Bass interview) and I kind of agree. But wishful thinking is that he might join Brian during one of the acoustic numbers.

We managed to outlive a goldfish, a hamster and a budgie, and each time I say no more pets. It's too sad. Mitzie the hamster died two years ago, and our beloved Tihomirka the birdie died two months ago and every time I peel a carrot or an apple, I start crying, they loved eating that. The hamster and the budgie, not the goldfish. I can't even imagine what it would feel like to lose a cat or a dog. I'd die. So, we are thinking of getting a cat (just don't say anything), but I prefer dogs, but our apartment is too small, but we can just get a really small dog, right. This is not going to end well, I just know it.

This is not going to end well, I just know it. [sympathetically] My current cats were born when I was pregnant with my daughter. They sat on my belly when she was inside, curled around her when I was nursing, and sleep on her bed now. If we're lucky, they may stay with us until she reaches college. Or not. One never truly knows. But they're an integral part of our home. Knowing it can't be forever doesn't change that. My parents have been slowly losing our childhood cats, and its hard. The only remaining one from that era is extremely elderly and very frail. I'll know I'll be making the drive up to dig that grave sooner rather than later. But that stupid cliché really is true: "better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all". They've provided us so much love, and despite missing them dearly when they go, we've always had furry (and scaly) friends with us. Love is such a wonderful thing. Good luck, bb.

Heartbreaking to lose them...certainly..but even more heart hurting to never know the loving and caring they give you. There are studies showing the life extending value of a feline pet! I have had cats as pets all my adult life...only once took on a kitten...Much prefer to adopt a young adult, preferable but not necessarily around a year old. Then you know if you are adopting a more active cat [looking for a mouser?], an independent girl cat or a loving lazy boy.

They love to walk with you if you are so inclined, but are fine sitting on the couch with you watching TV. People think apartment living requires a small dog, but it really reqires a dog that is not high energy/high exercise. And the Dane has the biggest heart in the world. How to relate this to Adam? They are bigger than life, extremely huggable, gentle and kind, and very good looking.
