Adam is not a rocker, Randy. He shouldn't ever sing a rock song. Just stay with Broadway, Queen or Meatloaf - leave the rock to someone else.

Perhaps I'm misinformed but isn't Queen and Meatloaf considered rock? Its not metal, but its rock. And Adam is definitely Rock in a Queen, Rocky Horror Picture Show kind of way. But that's rock baby...

I've always thought Queen was one of the ultimate rock bands, and Meat Loaf is rock, too. It's just, as you say, not metal. It's theatrical and over-the-top like musicals, but definitely rock.
I'd especially love to hear Adam try some Queen, as I think that he could handle it and do well with it. That's not something I would say for very many singers.

I'd like to see Adam sing some Led Zeppelin. No one's tried "Stairway to Heaven" in a while........I think he'd kill it, in a good way.
Ditto for some Steve Perry. What I wouldn't give to see him sing Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin' .

That would be great. Also, I think he could really rock out some Muse..."Starlight," "Hysteria," "Time Is Running Out," whatever, they're a solid band and Adam's voice would really lend itself to singing something in their repetoire.

The funniest thing to me tonight was the fact that last week TPTB made Gokey look like some sort of risen Jesus, and this week they made Adam look like he was peforming at LA Pride. To me at least, it was a major foreshadowing of what's to come:

Chiming in from Down Under:
My picks are Adam and Allison, and then (with an eye to DialIdol) Matt or Jesse for number 3.
If one week Adam delivers a non-showy, "straight" to the camera performance without any eye fucking or shimmying the judges will be beside themselves and then he'd give the Gokey a run for his money. But I can't see middle America getting on the glam gay bandwagon.

....Adam -- I freaking love him. He puts on a performance that is memorable, and that's what I want. Not all of his notes were perfect and the beginning was weird, but I don't care because he put it out there. I don't see him as showing off because he thinks he's better than everyone else, I see him as putting on a show that people have (in his past experience) enjoyed and were entertained by and wanting to entertain others. I love Freddy Mercury and would love it if someone out there would become to this generation what Freddy Mercury was for his. A real performer who isn't afraid to to go outside the box and give it his all. I love his voice, and I think he has mad stage skills and has been super professional in interviews and during critiques. |

Aleks...many cats live 20 years, especially if they are part or full Siamese and you keep them indoors. Heartbreaking to lose them...certainly..but even more heart hurting to never know the loving and caring they give you. There are studies showing the life extending value of a feline pet! I have had cats as pets all my adult life...only once took on a kitten...Much prefer to adopt a young adult, preferable but not necessarily around a year old. Then you know if you are adopting a more active cat [looking for a mouser?], an independent girl cat or a loving lazy boy.  What about the bonding, I thought it would be easier with a kitten? What if we adopt a year old cat and it doesn't like us? *sniff-sniff Cats are human loving and will bond fairly easily as a rule...unless they have been really traumatized....and that would be pretty evident pretty quickly. My current feline lover is a biggish boy I claimed after he could not get along with the apha cat in his household...who just happened t be a Serval so 3 or 4 times his size!! He was 6 years old already so took him a few weeks to acclimate but that is all...and now he is as loving and contented as any cat can possibly be. He is close to 9 now.. and I look forward to many more years of loving from him. eta...oops...I had to leave mid post to cut a clients hair...then came back to finish. I can delete if you want.....sorry |
