 I think that Adam did have some associations that led him to repost that fan made picture, but I don't think that we have it figured out yet, or that it is as simple as solely interpreting the text ' day and night' correctly. When I looked at the pictures, and especially the first one, with its very statuesque kind of pose, enhanced even further by the plateau shoes, I was led down the path of 'strike a pose'....and with that, of course this video: The first picture has the suit, the pose, the black and white coloring, and the whole fashion sensibility from this video in it. Adam always has maintained that Madonna is one of the pillars that he sees his own music and his visual artistry standing on. A pose like this one is no made accidentally, it is an homage to something and Vogue is as far as I got. Which of course brings up the question, what the second picture represents and what it means to juxtaposition the two? I don't know that it has to mean anything - sometimes a pomegranate is just a fruit - but I think, if we go back to that expression of 'postmodernism which has been described as a "style and concept in the arts, architecture, and criticism, [that] is characterized by the self-conscious use of earlier styles and conventions, a mixing of different artistic styles and media, and a general distrust of theories.', then I think we may be able to figure out a bit more than what I alone came up with. Any ideas? Bottom-line, I don't think that Adam planted these pictures and the word post modern into our heads at the same time just by accident. They were meant to go together, and we just need to put our thinking caps on a bit more. |

On the day of opposition, Mars, Earth and the sun fall on a straight line. Six days later, both planets will have moved a little along their orbits, but, because of the eccentricity of its orbit, Mars will be slightly closer to Earth than it was before.
This occurs roughly 26 months/780 days apart and it will happen on April 18, 2014. So this is not a extremely rare astronomical event.
In the period surrounding the opposition of Mars, Mars will make its apparent retrograde loop through Virgo. And this period of time is of interest to astrologers. Mars, Mercury, none of the planets, actually never go retrograde -- it is technically "apparent retrograde."
When we look at Mars from Earth and it looks like it travels westward in relation to the stars (opposite path from Earth) it is called retrograde. So when you look at the sky, the Sun, Moon, and stars appear to move from east to west because of the rotation of Earth (so-called diurnal motion).

It doesn't. The alignment simply makes Mars strong. It can then more powerfully influence whatever it is doing in a particular person's chart. Thanks! So if Mars is in your chart, it could make that area stronger? Not that simple. If Mars in your chart is not strong to begin with, the fact that it has become strong in transit won't really matter all that much. Be careful what you wish for though. A strong Mars can be very problematic.! |
