ADAM LAMBERT @adamlambert Have we made it to radio down under??? Woohoo "@timverrall: The new AVICII + Adam Lambert is ridiculously good” Is this the original album recording? Hope so - hope it isn't that "chipmunk remix"! Yes, the real one. The remix is apparently going to clubs in the Med.

Americans do not drink much tea, rarely drink it hot. We are slightly above average in coffee consumption but we rule the world when it comes to drinking carbonated beverages... When the US was a British colony, we had very high taxes on tea, so Americans drank coffee instead of tea. When we were fighting and establishing our independence from Briton, drinking tea was considered a "Yankee" (Brittish supporter thing to do). When the west was settled, the settlers continued the coffee tradition. So hot tea drinking has been relatively uncommon in the US for over 300 years. Then in the 19th and 20th century, the largest percentage of US immigrants came from coffee-drinking countries. (The exception is the Irish immigrants who switch to drinking coffee after arriving because tea was less common and more expense than coffee.) Iced tea (originally tea punch) appeared in the early 19th century in both the US and UK. But with the rapid, early adoption of refrigeration in the US, it dominated here while it remained uncommon in the UK. By 1900, Iced Tea was commonplace in the US. No well equipped home was without Iced Tea glasses and spoons. During World War II, the only tea we could get was black tea from India, and by the end of the war, tea in the US = Black Tea. And Iced Tea was usually sweetened and served with lemon. The amount of sugar used increased a lot to cover up the taste of the strong tea. Today, approximately 85% of tea consumed in America is iced. And almost all of that is iced black tea. Edited by the author. As usual I'm in the minority. I only drink tea ( british black tea), mostly hot tea with some iced tea in summer. I hate coffee. My English grandma started me on tea. I'm left handed also. I sure don't seem to run with the pack I love hot teas! My favorite teas are Japanese matcha, chai made from scratch, and puer tea (great for lowering cholesterol too!).. sorry Lipton.

*** Also, an AVICII fan got me to relisten to the LMD Avicii by Avicii remix, and dance to it, and forget it is Adam's modded voice. And I have to admit -- it is muchkined (frequency raised and speeded up) but it is a great club track. And it really is a beautiful remix. (Still having trouble with anyone modding Adam's vocals but....gotta admit it is very dance-able.) Almost everything Avicii makes is very dance-able. But I just can't get through this remix. It could be the modding of Adam's voice, but the rhythm sounds disjointed to me as well. And not in a nice or even interesting way. As if the vocals don't match with the music. I really like most of the other remixes. Shame on me is a really nice one. Avicii used a lot of those remixes (or versions of them) in the show that I was at, instead of the originals. I really admire the fact that you can get past the modded vocals, maybe I should give it a few relistens, see if it grows on me. But I'd much rather see the original LMD go far! Love that song, and I would be so happy for Adam.

Lol, I get it! I'd forgotten all about those commercials. Carry on. I never understood those commercials -- since we have had Red Rose tea in the US "forever" (since the 1920's per Wiki). Can someone explain it to me? What is only in Canada? Eh? Apparently I had forgotten it was changed to 'Eh'? after originally being 'you say' in the commercials. I can't speak for the rest of the country, but on the west coast we do not say 'Eh'?. Quote from Red Rose wiki... "Red Rose Tea is a beverage company established by Theodore Harding Estabrooks in 1894 in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. Red Rose's old commercials introduced the catchphrase, "Only in Canada, you say? Pity..." (The catchphrase was transformed by Canadian popular culture to, "Only in Canada, eh? Pity...") The Red Rose commercial was poking fun at the Brits and their tea..... nothing to do with the U.S. ETA: I love the Lipton 'Green Tea' Iced Tea. Not too sweet and very refreshing.
