(i know I'll feel like an idiot once you guys enlighten me...) also, do you think Adam and Nile are getting any $s for this or is exposure the only benefit? How are these deals usually structured? And given Avicii's stinky "no credit" approach would this be any different from "the usual"? I'd guess "Now Playing." And I'd guess all those listed as songwriters are compensated. |

I have been unable to confirm but here is some info. The English language ad posted on the South American Lipton Facebook is a global execution -- not a regional execution. So it could be used in US and Canada. (Probably not with British English voice over.) DDB/Unilever-Lipton has announced the Muppets in the US. That might change because the Muppets movie is not going to last the summer. BackgroundLipton unified all of its brand advertising with one agency in 2007 (DDB) and they added the digital business in 2012. So one agency network has the global business. BUT they have been running regional campaigns. (Particularly the US has had separate campaigns. The role of Tea is different in the US.) That changed in Feb 2014, when Lipton launched its first global brand campaign -- but the creative executions with the "Be More Tea™ campaign" are localized. "Muppets Most Wanted" was released in North America (Disney) on March 21, 2014 and is still in theaters. Disney did a great job putting together promo tie ins for the Muppets. [The Muppets are also in Subway commercials, and Toyota Superbowl commercial, and Lipton.] But the movie is a box office "disappointment". The Muppets Lipton commercial features "Everybodys Talkin" by Harry Nilsson. |

PLEASE...PLEASE...Let QAL perform "One Vision" !!!!! It's one of my favorite Queen songs evah!!!! It rocks so hard !!!! I can just picture Adam in full rock god mode....  ...It could bring the house down !!!! I'm putting it out to the universe  Speaking of rocking hard......another of my wishes is for Adam to work with Jack White!!!! I would be in heaven!!! I'll fling that wish out to the universe too ! " GOES HARD " would make a nice song/album title, wouldn't it?

This Lipton commercial is great and it's lovely to hear Adam singing on tv. I expect it to be on our tv eventually, it's a bit early for summer here (although the weather is exceptionally warm and sunny for April).
It looks like they are launching Ice Tea in bottles, the bigger carton pack have been in stores for years. There are not a lot of non-bubbly options for sale so it's very welcome. Most exciting is that a big brand has a worldwide reach and the song will be familiar everywhere.
Q3 mentioned something that drinking tea is different in the US - I'd like to know more about that. Could you elaborate a bit, please? |
