Bringing this over from the end of yesterday's thread. Does anyone know where I can buy By The Rules from? I've bought everything Adam has done, but can't find it in my iTunes library. I did have duplicates I deleted, and possibly deleted it by mistake. :-[ I can't find it in the iTunes store either.. It is on one of the international editions of the album, either UK or Japan. That's why it's not in the American itunes store. Thanks rihannsu and dancygeorgia! I bought the UK one and thought I saw it in my iTunes library at one point.. guess I deleted it.. sigh..

Although it may be easier to import the whole CD so that all the songs are together in the same directory. There is a way around it, but it can sometimes take more time than just re-importing the whole CD.

TALON'S TAKE: Some Day, One DayWritten by: Brian May Musicians: Brian May - lead and backing vocals, acoustic & electric guitars Freddie Mercury - backing vocals John Deacon - bass guitar Roger Taylor - drums, backing vocals - First song on a Queen album with Brian on lead vocals. - The first really acoustic based Queen song as well (since Mad The Swine from the first album sessions wasn't actually released til much later) - The band never performed this live nor did Brian on any solo tour. QUOTES - "It was born of my sadness that a relationship seemingly couldn't be perfect on Earth, and I was visualizing a place in eternity where things would be different...the acoustic 'tickling' and the overlaid smooth sustained electric guitars were intended to paint a picture of that world" - Brian May There are no alternate versions. PERSONAL NOTES - This is a track I've been hoping Brian would brush off for his acoustic mid-concert sessions with QPR and QAL. It would be nice to hear Brian just sing and strum this one and it would go perfectly. Ahhh...maybe next tour - John's bassline fills should not go unremarked upon. He really has a fluid style that doesn't scream look at me...but when you listen you hear such subtle genius. He very rarely will just play the bass of the chords as some bassists do, he will often add a run in just the right place. Beautiful. CHANCES: Some Day One Day - Of two minds - 0% that it would be a full band performance with Adam, 1% that Brian could decide to dust it off as an acoustic interlude (ala Good Company in 2013 with Kerry, You're My Best Friend in 2012 or Long Away in 2005) but it would be just that, Brian and an acoustic so no orchestrated guitars)...BUT even that is HIGHLY doubtful. It just fits the same categories of Good Company and Long Away - basically Brian sung early Queen tracks....

Second question first. I actually don't have the blu-ray. i have the DVD from 2005 and from what I've heard from friends who have gotten it, it's just about the same release. The DVD is in 5.1 surround and if you have the equipment it is well worth it. I mean Queen is a band that truly USED all the channels properly so it is the best way to hear this album specifically! Ok, to the remastered CDs etc. It depends on what you mean by original vs new digitial? The original CDs were issued in the UK by EMI around 1986 and Capitol in the US. In 1991 Hollywood Records remastered them (by Eddy Schreyer) in the US and added 1-2 bonus tracks (usually unfortunately insipid dumb dance remixes that did nothing for Queen fans - although there was the hidden gem now and again like Mad The Swine) The sound was much better and crisper but there were quite a few errors that had to be worked through. In 1994 EMI remastered them in the UK and from what I've heard, I wasn't impressed. I stuck with my 1991 Hollywood Records even if they were remastered by Eddy Schreyer again) In 1998 they were remastered by Peter Mew for a box set in the US but I haven't heard much about them BUT that may be because of... In 2001 Japan issued remasters which were done by Peter again. I don't have those but there are some who would swear by them and say that these are the best of the lot even compared to the 2011 ones. 2011 came the reissues by Island for worldwide distribution. I do have these and I LOVE them. Some claim they are victim of the loudness war but to my ears I highly enjoyed the distinctions I could hear. The detractors claim they lose dynamic but to me they really shook the floor at times. If any band needed a bit of loudness to their studio mixes it was Queen. While they always had the distinction of being one of loudest live bands, I always felt their studio work was a bit muddy in terms of volume. If you think that than 2011's reissues are for you. The majority like them best I believe. AND the deluxe packaging gave much more in terms of bonus content (even though it was still far less than hoped and what could have been) That help?

Both By The Rules and Map are on the UK edition of Trespassing. I got mine from Amazon UK. It is really easy to order from there and both the price & shipping were reasonable.
