Wish the U.S. would jump on the Adam music bandwagon. Since radio has stubbornly refused to play him, a well-done commercial or two might be the thing to introduce his amazing music to the masses here. I am very optimistic about A3 and US radio. Adam is working with Max Martin -- so it will incorporate some mainstream sensibilities. Adam's relaunch is being done by masters. He looks great. The promo staging is perfect. I do not agree that radio has stubbornly refused to play Adam. I believe that the two songs that were released as single that were suited to Top 40/Adult Pop radio (WWFM, IIHY) got plenty of support from across the US -- WWFM was one of the Top 200 played songs on US radio in 2010. JMHO -- radio did not reject Adam, programmers decided that they did not want to play some of his singles -- and IMO they were right on 2 of the 3 promoted singles that did not get a lot of airplay -- NCOE and BTIKM. Generic pop songs, demos rejected by the original artist/songwriter for their own albums. >> Not picking on this particular statement, but fans restating that "Radio rejected Adam" or its just about payola or posting negative comments about PDs and not respecting the fact that there really are good radio PDs, does not help Adam. [And I think it might hurt him.] And IMO It is not true. >> At the end of the day, only a few songs make the Top 40 and many good songs do not, some great songs do not. Adam has had songs make the Top 40 airplay charts, including one monster song -- particularly if you look at total airplay vs. just peak position. On the 3rd single not played by radio -- I love FYE, and the song was played by about 85 stations in the US -- but that song had its own special issue with 70's vintage shuffle beat track and Adam's voice just thrown on the Britney track. Too bad Dr. Luke didn't rebuild that track for Adam and Adam's voice -- and change the key! and vocal arrangement. Look at the discography for most artists, the majority of singles do now get major radio support. Only a handful of artists -- Bruno, Katy, Taylor Swift -- get support for every single. But Lady Gaga is proof that radio is brutal and even the once might might not get their song on the radio. At the end of the day, for major label artists, Radio is survival of the most popular. For indie artists, welcome to online indie radio and YouTube.

Just want to say about I want to break free - love the song, not the video. I really enjoy Adam's live versions with Queen. I was singing it a few weeks ago while watching the you tubes of QAL and my son and his friends in their 20's started singing it and knew every word - I asked him how they knew the song so well because it doesn't get much radio play and he said "Mom, everyone has Queen's Greatest Hits so we know all those songs". They have never seen the video, don't associate the song with it and think it's a great song. Can't wait to hear it live myself.

On licensing for commercial use -- this is usually the result of effort by the Publisher (Kobalt for Adam songs) or the artist's label/management (like Lady Gaga's "Applause" placement in the Kia commercial.)
Some song usage in commercials is part of a master license with a label (usually Sony ME for Adam songs to date).
**
LMD is AVICII's song, so that is managed by his people, label, management.
ETA: LOVE THE SHADY COMMERCIAL. LOVE IT!! I also love that song.

Ok, WHO is the awesome person/team doing all the heavy lifting getting Adam's music on tv?? So far we've got: LMD - Lipton...GLOBAL Underneath - British tv promo for "The Smoke" IIHY - Korean beer commercial (with Psy!) for Hite DryFinish-D Shady - Korean car ad for Kia Did I miss any? ETA: Hey Q3 (or whoever wants to chime in!), what do you think Adam's financial compensation might be for these? With the possible exception of IIHY, Adam has writing credits on all of these songs. LMD on Mixology promo
