Adam Lambert and Avicii single coming soon? Radio DJ teases Yes!

Remember last year when Adam Lambert worked with Avicii and the legendary Nile Rodgers on a track for Avicii’s debut album ‘True’?

Lambert fans will remember that the tune is titled ‘Lay Me Down’ and it received a LOT of attention when the record dropped originally. Well we have some great news for you this morning, there is a chance that the song could be the next Avicii single!

It’s been teased that Lay Me Down could be the next single from Avicii’s debut album ‘True’ and would follow-up the likes of ‘Wake Me Up’ and ‘Hey Brother’.

It was suggested by an Australian radio DJ (and of course this is speculation for now but we wouldn’t complain if it were ‘True’) that the track will be released to stations very soon.

The popular DJ, Byron Cooke took to his Twitter account and suggested to his thousands of followers that it was coming: “#LayMeDown rumoured to hit Australian radio NEXT WEEK as the next OFFICIAL @avicii single! Could this be #TRUE? @adamlambert”

No confirmation has come from any of the three performers but we wouldn’t be surprised if it was the next single to be released. It’s received such positive feedback so far.

Back in September, when ‘Lay Me Down’ was all we were talking about (and it really is a great song), we had reported that Adam Lambert recorded his part hungover.

It didn’t turn out to be a bad thing at all and we were amazed that the For Your Entertainment hitmaker had laid down his vocals so well despite being ill. Avicii admitted afterwards that he was left “in love with his voice.”

Meanwhile, in other Glambert news, Adam has went for a new look and dyed his hair green this week. He posted a shot on his Instagram page which you can see below.

Also there’s still chatter about Adam and his forthcoming album which we know he is working away on in Sweden.

It’s full steam ahead as the vocal powerhouse is also gearing up to go on tour with Queen later this year across the US.

Still no UK dates confirmed unfortunately but the way we look at it, there’s plenty of time, they could still change their minds and visit the UK at some point.

So captioned Adam Lambert in his most recent Instagram, which features a head of lime locks. Freddie Mercury never sported the shade, so we wonder if he’ll keep it up for his upcoming Queen tour.

“Who Wants To Live Forever” (Album track with Lyrics)

"Who Wants to Live Forever" was composed by May and sung in the album version as a duet between himself and Mercury. Synths parts are played on a Yamaha DX-7 by May, and the orchestra was arranged and conducted by Michael Kamen. Deacon did not participate, and Taylor played some drum-machine parts and contributed backing vocals. Percussion was taken over by the orchestra as well as bass (double bass in this case), in spite of Deacon miming those parts in the video. It serves as somewhat of a 'love theme' of Highlander, as it adds to the sub-plot of the movie (in the film, Mercury sings the first verse as well, unlike the album version, which has May singing first).

"This is a very different era, of course. The song was written – I've documented this very well, I know – but what happened was we went to see the Highlander rushes with Russell Mulcahy, and that was our first experience in any way with Highlander – I hadn't read the script; I don't think any of us had – and it was very moving. [The film is] about a man who becomes conscious that he's immortal, and he's reluctant to accept that fact, but he's told that if he falls in love he's in big trouble, but of course he falls in love anyway. And the girl that he falls in love with eventually grows old and dies in his arms, and that kind of opened up a floodgate in me – I was dealing with a lot of tragedies in my life: the death of my father, the death of my marriage, and so forth. I could immediately hear this 'Who Wants To Live Forever' in my head, and it was almost complete in the car going home – I remember singing it to my manager as he drove me home, and he was pretty surprised. He said, 'Where did that come from?' and I said, 'I don't even know.'"
