In reference to Out Mag's leaving Adam out of that list, I have an interesting (albeit probably twisted) thought that was inspired by comments that media love to use Adam's name to garner hits; just as the press gets attention for naming Adam in headlines, using his pic, etc., one has to wonder if they haven't also figured out that they can get multitudinous hits from his legions of fans by leaving him out of lists we all (and rightly so!) think he should be included. lol...I was thinking the same thing, how funny. Then I thought, wow that would be so silly, even I don't want to believe that, but I did have my doubts either way. Who knows. You sure are right about the legions though, and I don't mean Melliemom, who I am sure wrote them a very well stated comment and they sure deserved to hear at least one. But I just happened to come across a tweet in my feed that was about Kris Allen, who has a whatever song out and he gave a nice interview, about overcoming the challenges of his accident and being a father...and it's all friendly and nice and you go down into the comment section and there is just this group of a handful of Adam fans, who have to use this article, that btw says absolutely nothing about Adam, and they have to piss all over it, how Adam is so much better, and how Kris cannot sing, and so forth... Really, you got to seek out a KA article and do that? Can't you just be happy with Adam's big success, and KA's much smaller one and be happy about the world order, as it is? Of course, then the Kris defense army rolls in, and here we go again.... Why? WHY? WHHHYYY? I know, they may be trolls, and so forth...but seriously, if it is a Adam fan, I really need to ask: Do we need to do that, given where Adam's career is now? No, did not think so. So, from a Karma standpoint, I can only hope these are all trolls. Somehow, I am not convinced of that one either, unfortunately. That is very sad and very ungrateful to say the least..I have trouble believing Adam fans would be mean to Kris at this point and time.. but if there are a couple who do comment ,it would be lovely & gracious to show some kindness and respect. A nice word here and there is it's own reward.. and yes there is karma. |

Chris Colfer - not on the list, Jessie Tyler Ferguson - not on the list, George Takei - not on the list. It's a power list, not a talent or popularity list, and the fact that Adam isn't on it really needn't be seen as disrespectful, insulting, etc. (of course IMO). There are lots of powerful Out people - YAY - and the more the merrier. (And there's no reason to "hate on" Frank Ocean because he was included on a list Adam wasn't - really, he is, again IMO, to be commended for writing what he did, whether he ever decides to say another thing about his sexuality again or not.)

Is there a point in discussing what is written in the comments sections of articles? I doubt anything said here is going to change the behavior of those commenters. JMHO.

At iHeart in Vegas, he had the audience in the palm of his hands for WWTLF. I was doubtful they would even do it, just because of the type of crowd there. But WOW! The audience was in awe. I cried for 2 reasons! One was hearing Adam doing it live. His best performance of it to date, I would say. The other was seeing the "too cool for school" people all around me being dumbstruck by the brilliance! And of course, his ovations both during and at the end of it! Happy tears!  I was away today but wanted to just say DITTO DITTO DITTO to this comment! I am still surprised they chose to perform this song at this event. And I am so happy that they did it. I was even more surprised at how the audience (which was a very tough crowd) stopped, stood up and were just mesmerized by this performance. Where I was, people stood the whole performance -- so it was like one long standing ovation. |
