Y'know I'm happy that there's a gig and that Adam and the band are making a nice payday (plus, keeping songs performance-ready). Have I just become a complete old fart that I sorta wish it was either a corporate gig or a party that wasn't being thrown for a teenager? Admittedly, I've felt the exact same way showing up to New York-style Bar Mitzvahs where the equivalent of a house was thrown down for a party for a 13-year old. Actually, those bother me more because that ceremony is supposed to be about taking on responsibility and then there's a shindig where New York Jet players are signing autographs, 7th graders are wearing clothes more expensive than pretty much my entire wardrobe, people are downing sake and jello shots, and the music is so loud that the relatives that have shown up can't even hear each other speak. #yes,definatelyanoldfart  |
