I do not know where people are getting that Adam gets well above $500K per concert now. In Asia, yes. But last I heard it was $250K in US. That is the number we heard for Pittsburgh Pride and I do not think that will change significantly until he has another big hit/album. The $500K cost of the Sweet 16 party was for alot more than just Adam. From the photos, it included venue rental, catering for a pool side party and at the venue including a huge cake, professional photography, all the event planners, etc. If you are referring to my post on the last page ...... 600 people at $400 = $240,000. $10,000 under what most think his going rate is. Plus.... I'm sure he doesn't do every event that offers him the money...... I was refering to this twitter quote in Wal's post top of page 5. Louise @louise_mtn_bert 50m glambertparty @paula4lukas Interested, but doubting the numbers. $240K take, but Adam's well above that, ~$500K. Also a fundraiser? If powers that be really want to base the awards shows on the sales reports, which is to say on the customers, it would be really interesting if they could come up with a way to determine, to measure in a way, the worth of music to them in a more substantial way than just through the mere purchase. It could be an interesting field of exploration for enthusiasts. In a sense, not only to have the fact that someone has bought a unit of music acknowledged, but that there is an efficient tool of measuring the impact of said music on the customers and their awareness of its value... For example, if there were a utopian world, where every buyer would have to give a reply to the simple question of why they bought certain music, I feel like that replies of the people who bought Adam's music would be such that they would shoot him to the very peak on the scale of worth. In other words, the total addition of the worth of Adam's music would be much higher than the additions of some much better selling music.
I have no idea what I just said:) I am very bad at Maths:)
Of course, it can also be questioned, whether the worth of the piece of art to the customer is indicative of its real worth. But if it is something to be considered, the customer's reaction, I think it is high time PTB moved on from the simple act of purchase as the deciding factor.

Like a true techie with a new toy, I have try out more smartphone cut & paste functions. I've tried to scan the threads to see. Venue was in her backyard. ( sis and niece found it that night two miles from where they live and close to my hometown, which cracked me up). I am just wondering because I have no business acumen whatsoever and am always amazed at all the knowledge on this thread. I figured all you savvy ppl would have a breakdown on this, lol. Just saving up for my daughter's own S16 party in a few years  (yeah, right) ETA: I'm not at all surprised at the figure. I just loved to hear abt how these things are determined. |
