Top 5 costliest concerts in Las Vegas this summer
Queen and Adam Lambert will be demanding top dollar for shows July 5 and 6 at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel. (Efrem Lukatsky/The Associated Press)
"So, how much would you pay for an up-close-and-personal view of Cher’s heart-shaped pasties when she comes to the MGM Grand in a few weeks?
Well, you may have to hock Grandpa’s gold dentures in order to afford choice seats, but it’ll be totally worth it, right?
When it comes to the most expensive concert tickets for shows this summer, Cher is not alone in demanding top dollar for the best ducats.
These aren’t tickets on the resale market or VIP packages either, but “premium” seats whose price is reflective of actual face value.
So, just what are the costliest tickets in town in the upcoming months?
Here’s the top five:
5. Aerosmith, Aug. 7, MGM Grand Garden arena, $695
4. Queen + Adam Lambert, July 5 and 6, The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel, $801.87
3. Cher, May 25, MGM Grand Garden arena, $891
2. Lady Gaga, July 19, MGM Grand Garden arena, $1,345
1. Billy Joel, June 7, MGM Grand Garden arena, $1,450"

The 2014 "Part-of-the-World" Queen + Adam Lambert Tour Countdown!
5.8.14 by Q3
The countdown moves on and the start of this epic tour gets closer. Only 42 days to go!
#42 “Body Language” (1979)
Written by Freddie Mercury.
Released as a single on April 19, 1982 and on Hot Space May 3, 1982.
A few things in life are certain. One of those is that Brian and Roger are not going to put “Body Language” on the Queen + Adam Lambert. There is probably not one song in the Queen catalog that Queen fans would vote “off the island” more than this track. That said, I actually believe that this song was way ahead of its time. And with updated production, this could be turned into a current dance-pop song.
Before you judge me totally insane, check out the live version. And read the lyrics. Note: please do not expect to hear a Queen song, it just isn’t. It is pretty much a gay 80’s electro dance track with a whip-crash in it.
And imagine Adam singing this. There would be piles of ded fans all over the place.
***
“Body Language” was written and recorded during Queen’s Munich period. The song was a source of contention within the band as was most of the Hot Space album recording sessions.
The massive success of "Another One Bites the Dust" inspired Queen to temporarily abandon their glam and experimental rock roots in the early 1980s, and experiment with disco, funk and soul music. "Body Language" and more importantly, its parent album Hot Space were the results of this change. "
"Not really us but not a bad record."

The other major influence was Freddie Mercury’s new assistant, Paul Prenter, who was putting pressure on Freddie to cut loose from the rest of the band and radically change his sound. He was generally cited as a bad influence on Freddie, and later leaked controversial stories about Freddie's love life to the press.
Roger Taylor summed it up in the Days of our Lives documentary: "He [Paul Prenter] wanted our music to sound like you had just walked into a gay club. And I didn't!"
"I can remember having a go at Freddie because some of the stuff he was writing was very definitely on the gay side. I remember saying, 'It would be nice if this stuff could be universally applicable, because we have friends out there of every persuasion.' It's nice to involve people. What it's not nice to do is rope people out. And I felt kind of roped out by something that was very overtly a gay anthem, like 'Body Language'. I thought it was very hard to take that in the other way. It's hard to talk about this. But there you go."
Brian May - 1998
"This is very much a Freddie thing. He was immersed in the gay world. I think it's very well constructed, it's deliberately away from the Queen concept."

“Body Language” is the only Queen single that does not include guitar (there are guitars for during the closing strains, which are more prominent in the 1991 remix). The song's key features are the minimal, sparse production, the emphasis of "suggestive" lyrics, a "slinky" synth bass (played on an Oberheim OB-X), and Freddie Mercury's erotic moans and groans.
The drastic change and lack of suitability to the UK market caused the single to peak at #25 in the UK. It was more successful in the US, where "Body Language" reached #11 on the Hot 100 and number thirty on the soul chart. The B-side is "Life Is Real (Song for Lennon)". [This single was released just a little over a year after John Lennon's assassination.]
Personnel
The instrumentation was almost entirely recorded by Freddie Mercury using drum machines, with John Deacon supplying the bassline on synth keyboards.
"There are some things on the album which I felt came out too light, that's all. Like 'Body Language'. There's a lot of things where I felt that we became so obsessed with the rhythm side that we were afraid to turn up the guitars. Afraid to use the guitar as a force."

“Body Language” Music Video
“Too hot for MTV?!” Queen’s second video banned by MTV.
It was a different world in 1982, as music videos were still a new art form, so it comes as little surprise that even the hint of something sexually suggestive would get a very stern finger-wag from network executives. Queen‘s ‘Body Language’ was one such clip that earned a ban from MTV.
The clip featured numerous body shots of toned men and women with their sweaty glistening skin draped in leather-clad outfits. Add in shots of both men and women in a locker room emerging from the steam room while covered in towels, and whoa! — watch out! The excessive visual of skin and homoerotic undertones was enough for the network to balk despite the fact there was no actual nudity.

“Body Language” Live
This song was played few times during the European Leg of the Hot Space Tour, with the first performance of "Body Language in Vienna on May 13, 1982. It often got a lukewarm reaction, although the live arrangement was much different than the studio version. The song was played much more frequently on the U.S leg, where the song achieved more commercial success and was more popular with Queen fans.
Live keyboardist Spike Edney would play the synth bass on this and "Staying Power" (also from Hot Space) during performances, while John would play guitar - a rarity.
