5.12.14 Adam Out and About in WeHo

Q3 and Talon: Thank you so much for everything you two put into these discussions!

I don't have anything to contribute to the discussions, so I am going to throw in a question instead.

You both have mentioned Teo Torriatte for a special performance in Japan. I did not know this song, but it makes sense (loved seeing the footage that you had linked). Another song that I think would make sense to the Japanese audience would be I Was Born to Love You. I know it was originally Freddie's solo material, but Queen also recorded a version. Do you think they would play that song? 

I was in Japan in the mid 80's and I think it was used as a commercial. I think I associated that song with Queen almost as strongly as Bohemian Rhapsody. I also heard that the song was used as the theme song in a VERY popular TV show in 2004. 

I know there is special meaning to the song Teo Toriatte for Brian, Roger and the Japanese fans so it makes sense for them to play that song. But I am wondering if in terms of popularity there is something to be said about I was Born to Love you, as a possibility too. 

Needless to say, I would love to hear Adam sing that song.

RE: Bo Rhap....the reason there was no Freddie video there was because it was the shortened version due to the shortened set and they were using it to open the show...much like when Queen did Live Aid.  When it is a edited version, they won't have the Freddie video...it won't be edited during these gigs...

Smoke and Pyro galore yes.  But I really think it will be much like it was for QPR and for all of the full QAL shows.  BoRap is considered Freddie's baby.  Freddie video will DEFINITELY be there for this one...




I think there is DEFINITELY a possibility. When Queen + Paul Rodgers toured Japan in 2005 they DID do it. THey did it in an impromptu type way. The first song of the encore, Brian came out with an acoustic guitar and then Roger came out. Brian sang the first verse, Roger sang the next and they sang together on chourses.

It was right around the time it was the theme song so that may play into it though the track was on most GH compilations in Japan since then. I DO think it more likley if it were to be done that it would be done similar to 2005 or perhaps only in Brian's acoustic section....BUT I think it has a better chance than a lot of tracks do even for Adam. So while I would say don't hold your breath for it....don't be shocked either
