Astrological Profile: Adam Lambert by Mirjam Schneider
by Lucy Walton | 12 May 2014
Adam Mitchel Lambert, born 29 January 1982, 10.45 pm, Indianapolis/USA
Those born under the sign of Aquarius are not exactly known for their fondness of rules and regulations, and singer Adam Lambert is no exception: Freedom and independence rank high amongst his values, and taking charge and being in the middle of the action suits him very much. His core personality is really cool and quirky, combined with a rather unorthodox way of thinking. He’s a person who’s full of restless energy, very easily bored and definitely eager for thrill and excitement. Exploring and expressing himself and his creative talents is a major theme of his life, and his chart shows an urge to test how far he can get. Adam has this great ability to get his messages across and is a fantastic performer on stage, but his introspective side also often requires him to retreat into his shell!
His friendly, peaceful Libra Ascendant gives him the talent to harmonize. While he’s very strong-willed, determined and relentless in the pursuit of his goals, he will also happily do his best to encourage kindness and fairness. Besides giving the picture of a perfectly nice guy, his chart reveals his “dark”, intense nuances and depth. There’s a mixture there of some pretty tough energies, which are as stunning as they are awe-inspiring. People may call him theatrical, but he just feels a strong need to express himself physically. That probably explains all that trademark glam, glitter and eyeliner! Libra is the sign where appearance and beauty matter, and this influence is dominant here. On top of that, constant transformation is a big issue for him. He can be very flamboyant and eccentric, but he’s got a desire to be taken seriously as well, to be accepted for who he is!
Although the former American Idol star is quite prone to emotional outbursts thanks to his fiery, vigorous Aries Moon, his chart confirms that he really wants to get along well with other people. Understanding their feelings and subtle motivations in an intuitive way is one of his strong points, although it may not be so easy for him to fully recognize his own feelings. A disciplined worker and always up for a challenge, the musician is blessed with incredible ingenuity and an individual style of communication – a brilliant constellation for songwriting! In love and romance, Adam seems to go for the more adventurous and fun kind of connection with lots of variety. On the other hand, he likes his relationships to be rock-solid. So yeah, as long as he’s in it, he’s in it for real, and no excuses!

Adam Lambert Looks Perfectly Marvelous In His Leather Jacket After A Night Of Partying
May 12th, 2014
Adam Lambert Is All Smiles After A Party At The Vaucluse Bar
What’s this? An Adam Lambert sighting from the weekend? Wearing a leather jacket? Who read my diary?
The songster (is that the dude form of songstress?) was spotted out in West Hollywood Saturday night hitting up a very snazzy party at the Vaucluse Lounge. Adam left the part accompanied by some ladies in candy outfits, which just adds to my amusement from the whole evening.
But really, that blue leather jacket on him is seriously sexy. I bet he would look amazing in long jackets.
Wait, what am I talking about? I already know that he does! Also, can we please take a moment and focus on his sparkly shoes? His shoe game is on point, people. So, has everyone already bought their tickets for the Adam Lambert and Queen tour? I’ve told you that Queen is my favorite band ever, right? So this is basically perfect.
Because with Adam, all things are perfect. Launch the gallery to check out all the photos from his night of partying. Seriously, he can’t stop smiling. And it’s all very adorable.

The 2014 "Part-of-the-World" Queen + Adam Lambert Tour Countdown!
5.13.14 by Q3
The countdown moves on and the start of this epic tour gets closer. Only 37 days to go!
#37 “It's Late” (1977)
Written by Queen Brian May.
Released on News of the World October 28, 1977 also released as a single in the US, Canada, New Zealand and Japan in 1978.
It's another one of those story-of-your life songs. I think it's about all sorts of experiences that I had, and experiences that I thought other people had, but I guess it was very personal, and it's written in three parts, it's like the first part of the story is at home, the guy is with his woman. The second part is in a room somewhere, the guy is with some other woman, that he loves, and can't help loving, and the last part is he's back with his woman.

“It’s Late” makes use of the tapping technique a few months before Eddie Van Halen's use of the tapping technique on the Van Halen album. Brian told Guitar Player Magazine that his use of the tapping technique was inspired by an unnamed bar-band guitarist from Texas who saw Billy Gibbons in ZZ Top to it. Tapping had also been previously used by other players, notably Steve Hackett of Genesis. The song is notable for its length and heavy, wide vocal range (E3-E6), bluesy guitar riff, and use of tapping.
Interviewer: Do you tap on the fingerboard with your right hand in 'It's Late'?
Brian: "Yes, that was actually hammering on the fingerboard with both hands. I stole it from a guy who said that he stole it from Billy Gibbons in ZZ Top. He was playing in some club in Texas, doing hammering stuff. I was so intrigued by it, I went home and played around with it for ages and put it on 'It's Late'. It was a sort of a double hammer. I was fretting with my left hand, hammering with another finger of the left hand, and then hammering with the right hand, as well. It was a problem to do onstage; I found it was a bit too stiff. It's okay if you're sitting down with the guitar. If I persevered with it, it would probably become second nature, but it wasn't an alleyway which led very far, to my way of thinking. It's a bit gimmicky."

It's Late (US Single Edit)
“It’s Late” was edited for US radio and eventually this edited version was released as a commercial single in the US, Canada, New Zealand in 1978. It charted in the US peaking at #72 on the Billboard charts. The B-side was “Sheer Heart Attack” (commercial single) and “It's Late” long version (US promo single).
The 6:27 album version of this recording was edited by nearly three minutes for release as a single. This edit is better than some other Queen single edits but I prefer the album version which includes some of Brian's finest guitar.

“It’s Late” was also included on the Queen Rocks compilation in 1997, and a new video was produced using footage of Las Vegas and prostitutes, intercut with live performances of the song.

In the album Return of the Champions by Queen + Paul Rodgers a stripped back version of the song "Hammer to Fall" is played in a fashion that takes inspiration from "It's Late".
Soundtrack use
The song appears in the 2006 documentary film Kurt Cobain: About a Son. The song also plays over the credits in the Jody Hill film Observe and Report.
“It’s Late” Live
Virtually no footage exists of the band performing "It's Late" - the song was only in Queen's setlist for about 18 months during 1977-1979. None of the professionally-shot footage from this time (Paris '79 and Tokyo '79) includes the song. Perhaps the rest of the footage exists in Queen's archives. There is an audience-shot film clip from 1979 (below) and there are reports that one private collector has an audience-shot video with about 2 minutes of the song from Rotterdam '78 and he does not want to share it. I cannot confirm that this is actually true.

“It’s Late” Lyrics
The lyrics describe a love affair that is on the verge of ending.
youtu.be/kjkDoU0fxog
It’s Late
You say you love me
And I hardly know your name
And if I say I love you in the candlelight
There's no-one but myself to blame
But there's something inside
That's turning my mind away
Oh how I could love you
If I could let you stay
It's late, but I'm bleeding deep inside
It's late, is it just my sickly pride?
Too late, even now the feeling seems to steal away
So late, though I'm crying I can't help but hear you say
It's late it's late it's late
But not too late
The way you love me
Is the sweetest love around
But after all this time
The more I'm trying
The more I seem to let you down
Now you tell me you're leaving
And I just can't believe it's true
Oh you know that I can love you
Though I know I can't be true
Oh you made me love you
Don't tell me that we're through
It's late, but it's driving me so mad
It's late, yes I know but don't try to tell me that it's
Too late, save our love you can't turn out the lights
So late, I've been wrong but I'll learn to be right
It's late it's late it's late
But not too late
I've been so long
You've been so long
We've been so long trying to work it out
I ain't got long
You ain't got long
We gotta know what this life is all about
Too late much too late
You're staring at me
With suspicion in your eye
You say what game are you playing?
What's this that you're saying?
I know that I can't reply
If I take you tonight
Is it making my life a lie?
Oh you make me wonder
Did I live my life alright?
It's late, but it's time to set me free
It's late, yes I know but there's no way it has to be
Too late, so let the fire take our bodies this night
So late, so let the waters take our guilt in the tide
It's late it's late it's late it's late
It's late it's late
It's all too late
