From what i have seen of other artists' concerts in Australia, the country seems to be always ready! I am guessing QAL will have no problem selling out arenas. Would definitely expect multiple cities OZ is a huge country! Q3, way back when we were still speculating about if QAL would ever come to NA & what venues they would play, you and I often discussed and "argued" about MSG. Me saying they could sell it out no problem, you saying they couldn't. I believe in this case, craazyforadam is remembering that part correctly. I am sure QAL will be booked in arenas in Australia -- but I questioned the selling out/being booked in STADIUMS. Two different things. The big acts tour Australia (Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Bruna, etc) are being booked into arenas/centres. Some doing multiple dates. That is what I believe QAL will do -- play arenas. ETA: The big question here is will they do the two big markets or 4-5 cities. I how they tour the whole country! They have only played Sydney and Melbourne (1985). *** I am sure I disagreed with with the "no problem" sellout part. But not about them being booked into MSG. I am pleased with how well that concert sold. Really pleased and pleasantly surprised. And I did not expect it to be so fast. Nor did I expect Philly to be so f'ing slow -- or Boston to have so many tickets left. >> Philadelphia Queen's #1 market in 1978-1982, now it is looking more like Seattle!! :( This has been a very tough summer for concert ticket sales -- and big artists are not sellout out US Arenas -- look at Gaga. QAL MSG is still not actually "sold out" although is a technical sell out. Some stray tickets left on the 100 level including 2 together and 3 together in section 118. And Ticketmaster still is sitting on some tickets -- they are dolling them out as Platinum tickets at a premium and putting a few on sale here. It changes every week. And they haven't sold out The Forum yet. I expect that they will technically sell out LA but there are still tickets there. Looks like they may technically sell out a lot of these date -- still a lot of tickets in Detroit, Boston, Atlantic City, the two Texas shows, Philly, Toronto #2, Western Canada. But overall -- everyone involved with this tour has to be pleased. *** The other big surprise to me is that the added the 5 dates in the Northeast -- seems like the over-saturated the NY-Philly area -- but did not play Atlanta, Miami, somewhere in the middle center of the country -- Columbus, OH-St. Louis-Memphis-Denver They could have easily gone to Columbus, OH instead of Atlantic City. Bigger market, better venue. (Closer to me!!) There concert arenas in Sydney and Melbourne hold 21,000 (Allphones) and 15,000 (Rod Laver). Big acts routinely do multiple shows. The only events in August outside in stadiums are football games which happen every week making scheduling anything else very tough. The artist that holds record here in Melbourne for shows at Rod Laver is Pink who did 18 a few years ago! That's 250,000 tickets in a city of 4+ million. Yes we love concerts here and if wasn't for time of year don't doubt Queen could sellout a stadium date... George Michael sold out a stadium date here a couple of years ago... # carryon

Do you thinkthey will do more cities like Katy Perry and Gaga are doing OR will they do more that one date in Sydney and Melbourne? Or both? They have from around Aug 1 through Aug 12 -- so max 12 days. That could be up to 8 or 9 shows. And it could all be in Australia or AU + NZ, or maybe add in Singapore or Shanghai.

Took her long enough to just say "No!" Maybe she felt she shouldn't before the actual announcements were made? Especially since Caleb had requested QAL?!

Maybe they were not sure? ETA: I am stretching with that "not sure" because she almost certainly knew when Caleb made that comment that it was NO. Ryan did say that they just lined up KISS for Caleb indicating that it was a few hours before the show. I can't remember what Ryan said, something like "this was just finalized this afternoon." ** I still can't believe that it is KISS for Caleb. I did not want it to be Adam + Queen -- and that really would not be good but there were so many better choices for Caleb.

I suppose, I Want It All!
And if this can happen in the rather smallish and unespected city (600K) of Wroclav, Poland, then I have no idea why we are having an argument about much larger and more metropolitan places like Sydney and Melbourne.
I don't even know why this is such an argument:
My thought path was: 13K arena too small ==> next larger size is stadium ==> outdoor ==> August ==> not good idea
Your's was: 13K arena may be small ==> they will just do multiple concerts and/or towns
pretty much same basic estimates in my book, not really sure, why this creates such excitement. We all agree that the times shown in this video are in the past:
Ok, I am done with that topic.
To answer your other question about other cities besides Sydney and Melbourne.
Well there is Brisbane, which is a large industrial city of 4 million people and they could do that. Brisbane is about a 10 hour car ride to Sydney, or overnight greyhound, if you are young and need to pinch pennies and want to have an interesting cultural experience, or it's a short flight to Sydney.
Then there is Perth, which at least would bring the concert to the other side of the continent, and within reach of folks that are not used to seeing every major act go through town. That's a city of 2 million.
And that is about it.
All other cities/towns are usually not on the tour circuit. Cairns, Adelaine, Darwin, Townsville, etc. Australia may be as big as the US, but the middle is pretty empty. There are no Ohios, or Denvers or Houstons or Chicagos along the way. In Australia, all this land really is fly-over country.
I think, they will limit it to Sydney and Melbourne and I hope, but I am not so sure, that they will add Auckland (NZ). If they really do some other cities in Australia, then Perth and Brisbane would be it.
