GNT, WAG, and now OLT, we love our acronyms.
Now about Dancing with the Stars. This season is eerily similar to Idol season 8. It's the exact same top four.
James = Allison : only girl/boy left, out in 4, prior TV show, raw talent Candace = Gokey : no prior experience, wears their religion on their sleeve, final three spoiler Amy = Kris : The little engine who could, prior album/sport, surprises us Meryl = Adam : emotion, depth, talent, experienced, musical theater/ice dancing,

'bani @bani_ 16m Rickey Minor mentioned Adam's name. - "That’s an easy one for me: Adam Lambert..(cont)" www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/05/20/american-idol-bandleader-rickey-minor-on-his-favorite-performance-and-what-it-takes-to-win.html' Adam's parts: Do you remember the Idol contestants from the past that you saw those things in them the second they arrived?
That’s an easy one for me: Adam Lambert, Chris Daughtry, David Cook. You know who else? Jordin Sparks. You brought up David Cook and Adam Lambert earlier. How did the show change when contestants like them came on, who were big into changing arrangements, so that the show seemed to no longer be about who’s the best at singing a karaoke version of Celine Dion songs?
There’s the artistry. Those guys learned to tap into their own artistry, what kind of artist they’d be if they got record deals. I’m not even talking about the competition anymore. I’m talking about a career as a recording artist. Those guys took the challenge when the show allowed them to play instruments and do those other things. So a guy like Phillip Phillips wouldn’t have won in the earlier days if he couldn’t have his guitar. Like John Mayer, he’s not a stand-up singer. He’s a singer-songwriter, but he’s a musician. So his comfort is to play. It’s funny that around the same time the Adam Lamberts and the David Cooks started doing well on the show was right around the same time you could sense a fatigue from viewers: Can we really hear another girl sing another version of “I Have Nothing”?
They’re still singing that song! Some of them still do—on this show and on those other vocal competition shows. It’s funny; they always go to these big torch songs when they’re not the best choice. The songs are overdone. So we’re trying to promote more things. This year we’ve done more indie things. Or we’ve done popular songs but encouraged contestants to make them their own. There’s a risk in that, because you don’t want to change it so much that people are like, “What song was that?” Rickey Minor’s Favorite American Idol Performances
Adam Lambert—“Mad World”That vocal was just really beautiful. Adam would always email me. I would open up my computer and there were three or four emails from Adam between the time I left rehearsal and the time I got home. He was so wanting to communicate. Now, they all had my email and they all used it. But he used it. So he had ideas, and that made me come with more ideas. So if he had one idea, I would come with three, just to push him.

Anybody of our German participants know what happened to www.adamnews.de ? Anyone renewing this domain? Will it not be maintained anymore? Did they move somewhere?

I suppose this isn't big news in light of all of the QUEEN hoopla, but the clip with Adam judging on RuPaul's Drag Race was featured on last night's finale. It was his one big moment on the show- interacting with April Carrion. Not too many clips with guest judges were shown so it was nice they chose Adam. I thought he might be in the audience, but I suppose he was busy with other things. It is amazing to see how Drag Race has grown and increased in stature since the first seasons! The finale was a bit of production. I was ecstatic with the winner. This season's show was one of the best! Glad Adam was a part of it and that he was in such fine company.
I personally can not wait for all of this QUEEN business to be over. Happy that Adam can continue to do what he loves to do the most, perform, and make a decent living at it. I never wanted him to have to be the frontman for Queen, but it is what it is. I hope someday he can get back to being a successful solo artist and he can have his own tour that rivals what was listed in the thread yesterday. In the meantime all the fans of Queen can have a good time too! (and Adam gets to sing with stellar musicians!)

I would agree on everyone but Amy, mainly because her qualities are extraordinary if not in dancing but in so many inspirational ways, where as KA is an all around mediocrity... IMO, it was quite obvious from the very beginning that Amy would get tons of votes - between her circumstances and Derek's fans it was a slam dunk all along... I am thinking Amy/Derek will win, although Meryl/Maks as a couple are waaaayyy better - so from this POV KA analogy is spot on
