This tour was supposed to have started June 9..what a misfortune for the cast and fans alike. Sad to hear this. Somebody messed up big-time. Perhaps the tickets didn't sell well. Seems the most likely reason!! Nice to see you, vivlite! We have missed you!!!  Thanks, Stardust! Sometimes it's healthy to take a break, clear the ol' noggin, you know? Am I completely off my rocker or did I really miss this? Thanks for sharing this! She hit the nail on the head when she talked about singing based on how your voice FEELS rather than sounds. JESSYE NORMAN: You have to tend to it, whether that instrument lives inside of your body or whether it sort of lives at the top of your shoulder <demonstrating playing violin>. But you have to know how your voice feels. JEFFREY BROWN: How it feels, not how it sounds? JESSYE NORMAN: Feels. How it feels, not how it sounds, because what the audience is hearing is not at all what you’re able to hear. So you have to know that if your voice is feeling well — it’s feeling well, and your shoulders are relaxed and your voice seems to flow with your breath, then you’re all right." If you watch that section she gestures at her own body and where she feels the sound of her voice. She is spot on with that and I am sure that Adam does the same thing, singing by "feel" as much as, or even more than by sound. |
