see! if not for the damn fur no-one would be talking about the outfit... the thing I am wondering about is what would make him think of packing it for LN in June? (having a glimpse of his thought process would be sooooo interesting!)

Talon, I agree with you. I had high expectations of "Someone to Love" as sung by Adam. I was left wanting something more, not that it wasn't good, it was. Just not what I was expecting. Watching the Hammersmith Day 3 video you attached to your comments, I am left wondering if maybe he wasn't emotionally attached to the song. Adam was in a happy place with Sauli at the time. He seemed to be lighthearted and playing around a bit while singing this song. Having said that, I love the way he delivered the lyrics starting at 4 min. Going back to listen to George Micheal's take on this song, it has always been one of my favorite performances ever. It sounds so ordinary now. Adam ruins you for others. I believe this is true. Ha. I can understand that :D Freddie ruined everyone for me. I like George's take > Adam's take...but note I don't want a Queen + GM tour like some people do...based on one song I think I would far prefer adam's WWTLF/TSMGO and others much more than GMs...and even though I'm not always sold on Adam's rock voice, I'm definitely sold on it far more than GM.

Yay for the fur collar, and of course, those Louboutins. Maybe he remembered being cold when he was here and in Europe about this time 2 years ago. lol Or maybe because it matches his current hair color so well. A quick glimpse inside his pretty head is probably all that I could handle. lol

(having a glimpse of his thought process would be sooooo interesting!) You are right, nica. I do think there may be a method to his madness! I got a kick out of both the article and comments. Tom and Lorenzo, as well as a lot of posters, may not really approve of the fur or boots, but they seem to be falling in love with Adam... May be just my take, but the criticism seems more light hearted than I've seen in the past. Also, I liked that one fan got in a link to the iHeart WWTLF.

I had exactly the same reaction you did after Adam had performed it. talon - I think Adam could do fewer riffs on STL - clean it up just a bit. I think, though, after actually watching a couple performances, there is such real joy as he performs it, it makes me happy (and Brian, too!) to see him sing it, even if it could be a little more perfect. Wouldn't it be something if we all loved our jobs like he does?!

My "Shades of ELVIS" just arrived! What a fascinating coffee table book! So many interesting and unexpected people wearing his "shades." And of course, Adam is beyond gorgeous.

Yup... Adam ruined everyone for me, EVERYONE, including Freddie... may be I should be happy he is not singing any classical stuff so I can hold on to the voices on that side of the singing world... cause if I find myself writing something like "I like Adam's take > Placido's take" ...idk... ... I have no idea what flaws you found in Adam's STL... it was as perfect as everything else

Talon, thanks for posting these different versions of STL. I like both George and Adam's versions -- very different approaches. George sang a beautiful, straightforward version (although I'm a bit biased, because I've always liked his voice). I don't know why Adam took the approach to STL that he did, but I'll make a guess. STL is an over-the-top kind of song, big and dramatic. I'm sure Adam heard Freddie's version, and likely George's as well. So he may have just decided to take a different direction and have a bit of fun with the song -- more tongue-in-cheek, even a little campy. Not for everyone, I realize, but I enjoyed it. Marc's version, well, to me is "Freddie Lite". Marc is a good singer, but in this video he seems like a pale ghost of Freddie, which makes me want to listen to Freddie instead of him. If you're going to sing STL, you'd better match Freddie (probably impossible) or bring something else to the party. Whether or not you like George or Adam's take on Queen songs, at least they are talented, distinctive singers who put their own stamp on a song. Thanks again for all of your Queen posts, Talon. I've spent many happy hours in your Queen thread. Probably should have thanked you sooner. Your efforts are much appreciated.
