Thanks for all your suggestions. I'm not sure why he is a Queen fan. He is visiting here and when the subject came up at a dinner party (that fact that I was going to a QAL concert), I suggested he watch the I Heart radio performance. I'm not sure if he has and I don't want to seem pushy, so I thought maybe if there was one video out there that everyone agreed was musically wonderful, maybe I could e-mail that to him! He is a dancer so he understands about being on a stage, so I'm thinking maybe I should send him "The Show Must Go On." That would not be my choice for either a typical Queen fan or for a 35 year old man who likes Queen from the '90's. Was he a "Wayne's World" Queen fan? He is the right age for that. But he may not be based on your comment about dancing. JMHO if he passed on iHR, I will let it be unless he asks for a suggestion. ETA: One more thought, you will not "win over" someone who was a casual Queen fan and no longer follows them to thinking Adam is a great fit. (Anyone who was a "fan in the 90's" and does not follow them now is a casual fan.) I would just drop the idea but if you are compelled, send him the Rolling Stone and Billboard reviews. Use "expert" opinions rather than your own.

This is his last day here and he's coming for a family dinner tonight -- maybe I can nab him for a few minutes and show him a little bit of the iHR to catch his attention! Thanks for your help everyone.

Thanks for your help everyone. Just a question inspired by this post, can you or someone else explain to me why Adam fans do this so much? I have shown videos of Adam and QAL to a handful of people over the years, mostly in my family, and I have never done it with any other artist. So I am not being critical. I am really just curious. What are we trying to accomplish? Do we want to explain why we are willing to travel long distances to see Adam perform? Do we want to justify spending so much time following an artist? Are we trying to share the experience? Are we trying to prove how right/smart we are? Is it something else?

I don't do it often but when I do is usually with people that are accomplished musicians in their own right that side-eye Idol.

For me, it's like any great thing I discover, be it a restaurant, a movie, an article, a great deal, etc., I like to share it with others who might enjoy it too. Unfortunately with Adam's singing, I've mostly gotten a negative response, but that's okay because at least I shared what I consider to be a treasure. I don't understand why other people don't hear what I hear, but then not all hearing is the same, so I'm okay with that. I guess you could liken it to someone who's color-blind. We may see the most intense beautiful blue color, but they may see the same color as gray.

I've been thinking the same thing myself. Why is this important to me? I think it is partly that so many people pre-judge Adam that it makes a fan want others to see what he or she sees. I know my nephew is one of those pre-judging people because of the reality show aspect. Adam is probably too gay for my husband and son (though they have never said that.) For my mother, she can't get past the makeup and won't even listen to him. I enjoy Adam so much that I want to share that pleasure. It's frustrating when the people in your life won't even try to understand.
