The explanation for this is that this pic seems to have been made with an wide-angle-lens. With this lens everything near the camera is getting way bigger than something only a few inches more away. Here's an example - and no, I don't want to compare Adam with a cow

I totally agree that Adam is a jaw dropping vocalist and this tour will be awesome. But I think you have overstated it a bit.... > Queen + Adam Lambert will not be all live vocals no matter what Adam said -- unless there are two radical changes: 1. Bohemian Rhapsody is rearranged for a full live performance. 2. There is no Freddie Video/Audio part of the concert. I would not bet $1 on all live singing. > The vast majority of artists who are touring North America in arenas do not use backing tapes or lipsync concert performance. The exceptions are all urban/hip hop and pop vocalists. The challenge for these artists -- Madonna to Rhianna to Britney to Gaga -- 1. no one can do the choreo they do and sing their music, and 2. some of this music is created in studio and cannot be replicated live. Even Adam uses backing tracks when he performs live for many of his pop songs. Finally, Queen is not a pop act, they are a classic rock act and there is not a major rock act with any credibility making major use of pre-recorded audio. When Muse performs, Matt Bellamy sings. When the Stones are performing, Mick Jagger sings. I can't think of a major rock act that lipsyncs lead vocals. Not anyone I have seen in concert. You caught me! Of course they will have recorded clips of Freddie and for Bo Rhap. To me, they do so for a different reason than pop acts do. You are also correct that Mick Jagger IS singing. Paul McCartney IS singing. Those are two "legacy" examples, however, where they make extensive use of other (live) voices to fill in the sound and sing melody lines and notes that Mick and Paul are having difficulty singing strongly (or at all) these days. It would be very remarkable if, at 72 years old, those guys still COULD sing as strongly as 40 years ago. Perhaps it is just me. I prize hearing musicians and singers without "enhancements." While I strongly defend the right of performers to continue performing even when they are not 25 years old and in perfect shape, I, despite being a life-long fan of Sir Paul, am not interested in hearing/seeing him in concert these days, for example. I am probably a snob about live performance. Sorry. ( And, yes, I would much prefer to see Adam sans backing tracks, too. If he cannot recreate the studio sound live due to a lack of $$ for backing musicians and singers, I would prefer he rearrange the song to fit what he CAN create live. I would prefer just keyboards and his voice to lots of backing tracks.)IMO, YMMV, etc. I do not think Paul McCartney uses augmented vocals with prerecorded vocals in concerts. Paul f'ed it up for the 2012 Olympics and talked later about not have done it since the early days of TV shows like Top of the Pops require it. I do not know what Mick does now but he used to sing it all. ** Set aside the 70's novelty concerts. Very few artists do not really sing in concert. All of the Rock and Alt acts I have seen lately are real -- so are many of the R&B acts. MUSE, Arcade Fire, Lorde, Usher, Pink*, JayZ, Steven Tyler, etc. all are singing as far as I could not. Not enhanced. Absolutely the Country acts I've seen are singing. * NO LIP SYNCING is documented: nypost.com/2013/12/06/pink-soars-to-dizzying-heights-in-concert-tour-special/ It is a handful of high-profile pop artists and people playing big stadiums (OD) who are not singing or who are heavily augmented. Lady Gaga sings a lot of ArtPop but some was augmented and some was lipsynced but they were the dancing and flying parts. Katy Perry uses vocal augmentation for many songs but she is doing these huge numbers. Rhianna, Miley. *** The press love a lip sync miss. And many artist lip sync big TV performances to a prerecorded vocal track -- they are often forced to for live events like the SuperBowl. But I would love to know one major rock act with a singer under 50 who is lip syncing in concerts. I can think of any. (I have found anyone under 70 doing it.)

New pic! instagram.com/p/pKKRafGLum/nikkisixxpixx8 minutes ago Had a great in depth and fun interview today with Queen and Adam Lambert for iHeartRadio Live. What on earth is wrong with this pic? Is Adam photoshopped in or something? Or standing on a step? Brian looks too short and Adam way to tall....it takes more than a little perspective to skew things that much doesn't it??? ta...just saw your post happycat....great minds think alike Brian is standing with his knees quite bent and also the angle of the camera has Adam slightly more in foreground so both of those things probably account for it. Fandom cracks me up sometimes. People are obviously distracted by it because - what no comments on Adam's unbuttoned shirt...

Re the odd proportions of the picture - the photographer must have used the same kind of lens used on the Red Carpet pictures. They appear the same way. Re the shirt - yes... first thing I noticed. And if it isn't the distortion of the lens, he's been working out big time...
