See that is what I'm wondering...did Adam even know about the crown or was he wearing it when he return I the leopard suit? If Brian put it on his head then the fans can't really hold that against Adam (not that it will stop them because many Queen fans are irrational in their dislike of everything Adam). For the record I don't hold it against Adam.....or even bri or rog. I don't like everything any of them do....and this is just something I wasn't a fan of...I just had a sinking feeling...something I didn't want at a gig like this. I mean now now that it's happened, I'll be prepared and it won't bother me as much....I think. Aw, talon, thanks for your honest feelings. On the livestream I suddenly heard Lynneville or some others start laughing during the opening of WWRY. I didn't connect it until the pics. I can't imagine anything more RIDICULOUS than singing WWRY in a gold crown and leopard suit. The ending is over the top campy and imo a clear homage to not only Freddie but to Queen. It felt like he was saying Freddie lives on, in this music, and Queen will live on, and I'm a fucking fierce queen and i'm going to wear this crown and it matches my suit. But I understand if any fans don't like it. I didn't think his gold lame pajamas were the most flattering. It's the fabric that makes it seem not right for onstage. So nice to see Brian and Roger spruce up a bit!

Just to add...maybe it's just that sadness in me that I won't ever get to see Freddie....perform or create anything new. And seeing Adam crowned so to speak...just hits that pit that never goes away fully. Everything else seemed to be a celebration of Queen's legacy and very respectful . This seemed....to be counter to all of that. I know I'm overtired and part of it is just the bitterness that as much as I am grateful to Adam for helping the boys back on the road..and how awesome this show will be and I get to see Brian and roger whom I love as much as Freddie....but I can't really ever get hat feeling. So unlike many Queen purists I will take so e responsibility for the negative feeling I had and I know it wasn't meant to be disrespectful.... So I'll stop. Considering it's 5 min of a 2 hr show,. I had no complaints about anything else,.ok maybe that they didn't do white queen... Talon, perhaps an education is in order. I don't think it is just me although it may be. What is the significance? I gather it came from a performance? I remember a photo of Freddie in robe and crown.

Just my two cents but if anyone is insulted by Adam wearing a gold crown, then tbh ppl are way too insensitive. I see this as an homage, its not like its the same crown haha i mean ppl think too much. And i dont expect 100% positivity at QueenOnline, no one well ever be Freddie in their minds and they are prob most likely right. But this is not a challenge or test to purists, Adams not trying to ruin his legacy, he just really really really really likes singing haha. I think Adams the ONLY one on the planet who can do justice, and i feel its taken him five years, but hes finnally embracing hes a worldwide megastar. Maybe I'm being insensitive, but I adored Freddie and think all the to-do about the crown is silly. It was a beautiful, theatrical gesture with no disrespect intended. Presidents are replaced, royalty dies and a successor is crowned, fathers retire and sons take over the business, it is the nature of things. To me, it's about INTENT, and the intent here was to make people smile and create a memorable moment at the end of this fabulous concert. To make it anything else, to me, is looking for an issue where there is none. I agree very much. I adored Freddy and was lucky enough to see him perform. Let's revere him, but live in the now.

So let's recap the costumes: leather bad boy; purple couches and gold fringe goodness; white pants (nothing more required there)...: and leopard suit. So what happened to the red? Not that I'm complaining.
Oh and waiting patiently for some of our incoherent atoppers who were there to check in. Once they regain the power of speech of course...!

Quick notes from what I could catch a. Visually amazing! b. nice set list for the beginning, wish they had spread out the surprises a bit more...and without actually scoring I hunk Q3 will beat me by one because I thought they'd skip '39....unless Brian did part of last horizon in his solo c. Can't wait to see the show. It seems more old school performance in the grand Queen tradition. d. I'm going to do it. Weigh in on the crown. Now you know I'm not an OTT Queen fan and you know I appreciate Adam and enjoy his performance but I thought the crown was tasteless. All the other Schlick with the couch and the outrageous costumes was all good but the crown? That was Freddie's ending in 1986 and for someone who is it trying to replace Freddie, it's a move that is against what he's trying. And what's worse is that Adam had been slowly winning some over...I have a feeling this might lose him some ground with some of those who he had been winning....and that's a shame. You may dismiss the above rant as taking it too seriously or that I should just get over it and that's fine. We all have our opinions. It doesn't mean I'm not looking forward to the shows or I'm turning into a hater but I didn't likes it. And if it bothered me at al..someone so open and approving of everything QAL have done...maybe that says something. but enough negative. I'm glad the. Road enjoyed themselves,,.the set looks awesome and I can't wait to see it myself soon! "The Queen is Dead, long live the Queen!"Poor taste? Schtick? (Really?) Talon, surely you understand the BAND knew the symbolism of this gesture. The dust, cobwebs and ghosts of the past have been blown the fuck out with the force of an atom bomb! This is not the old Queen and it is not about Freddie. This is a new, revitalized, flesh and hot-blooded, Queen, capable of raw, sweat-producing energy and powerful music. THEY didn't die with Freddie. THEY are alive. THEY have a future full of creativity and I can't wait to see what THEY do next! Who gives a flying fuck what some creaky old Freddie diehards think anyway? If Freddie, himself, floated down with all the Archangels in heaven to personally place that damn crown on Adam's head, the Queen *purists* would still get their dicks in a twist about it. *kneels to the new monarchy*

Freddie not only did the crown but the long royal cape as well and I seem to remember he was slammed for presuming to don the trappings of royalty. It was considered disrespectful of him to do that but he did it anyway. Bono draped himself in an American flag when touring the US after 911, it was seen as disrespectful by some but he did it anyway as a symbol of solidarity with the US. It was especially meaningful for him because he had consistently refused to wear the Irish flag due to the troubles in Northern Ireland. Great artist do shit that is uncomfortable to a lot of people, sometimes specifically to make a point. Perhaps Brian and Roger were making a point to those who refuse to allow them to move on. Not saying that's what it was but it could be.

Ask him to give you a ticket for yourself as an anniversary present. He can go out with the boys and you to the concert. Everybody wins Just like mys*&@^#r - a reasonable, practical idea which has no chance - BUT when Adam tours his own music, you better bet I will be there even if it's Christmas and New Year's rolled into one BAH ! MEN! happy anniversary in advance!
