Wonder why Adam made the decision to change the pants out? Must have been his stylist? I am really out of here now. I mean it, really mean it this time. What a fun morning! And early afternoon. We would all be dead, right now, if he wore those pants! Yea! But wonder if he is wearing the same undies as the model under the changed out pants

Took me all day to get through the Chicago thread (with a few hours break for RL stuff) & now I'm trying to catch up on the regular news thread. OMG I foresee many many hours in front of the computer watching all the vids that will be coming in from the Canadian leg of the tour. This is going to be such an exhausting summer but one of the best summers of my life! I'm just GIDDY with anticipation & excitement!!!

LOL I just took a brief foray into the Queen Online Forum... Wouldn't suggest it if people spilling vitriol on something they haven't seen and have no intention of seeing isn't your bag. Had to LMAO at a few of the comments - delusional comes to mind. I sure hope that I never become quite so rabidly unreasonable about Adam... oh wait LOL.

Ya, I am only interested in what the Queen fans who go to the show say! And so far all i see are "Kudos!"

The Crown Gate
“All Hail Adam, the New King of …Chicago? Queen? Rock? Chaise-lounge?”
Very funny, but no. If I had to put any words in anyone’s mouth (Adam’ or mine), I’d probably go with the ones by Lily Allen, “Give me that crown, bitch, I wanna be Sheezus.” That sounds good. Or even better, the ones by Manu Chao, where he is the King of the bongo bong (since his Mama was the queen of the mambo, and Papa the king of the Congo, and now he’s banging his first bongo. Love that song.). Or, if I really had to choose one of the silly titles from the first sentence, I’d say Adam was definitely king of that couch, and even Chicago, for the duration of their concert last night. His performance was kingdom-worthy, indeed.
Adam did wear a crown last night. Or was it a coronet? Regardless, that particular item of headwear is probably one of the most common props in theatre world, and I don’t think there’s any evidence of actors or actresses going cuckoo over it, getting silly thoughts about being kings and queens for real – although I wouldn’t be surprised if there are some off the record cases. The symbolism and/or the imagery have stretched into the world of music a long time ago, and have been doing so ever since. At the mention of Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt, my mom thinks Vivien Leigh, and I think Katy Perry, and it’s all good.
Many have used a crown or a title as a part of their performances, or with a private meaning known only to them. Some got ‘anointed’ by fans. Elvis, Freddie, Michael, or Morrison the Lizard King; Tina, Justin or Donna Summer. Madonna. Kings of Leon. In case of Elvis, the king of rock, and Michael, the king of pop, the use is the most serious it can get in the world of art – it’s a honorific nickname very much deserved in both cases, in my opinion. But, the truth is that in music world alone, there are over fifty artists with titles containing the words king, or queen, princess, goddess, or godfather, etc. together with various genres, from country to grunge, attached to their name.
The point is, no one has any right to it, aside from the real members of royal families around the world, but everybody knows that. Artistically speaking, Adam didn’t do anything wrong last night. It was a simple prop, and, combined with his animal print suit, the only reference which seems logical is that he was the king of jungle, and that we were going to hear him roar, which totally did happen, by the way. Only, that would be me playing dumb and pretending there was nothing more to it. Not my style, really, and much more importantly, not Adam’s either.
When he appeared with the coronet on this head, a collective gasp of shock literally rippled through cyberspace for one second, followed by a smile at his campiness and flamboyance in some cases, or feelings of unease or maybe offence in others. Why? Because Freddie wore a crown and a cape for the Magic Tour and Adam seriously stepped over the line, since ‘he is no Freddie’ and he should never ever forget that? Or because he doesn’t have that specific honorific title (although he did get called ‘a rock god’ on a few occasions but that’s not really the same)? In any case, that part of his outfit got so much attention that it almost overshadowed his brilliant first performance.
The operative word here is almost, because none of the great reviews which came out so far have taken any specific notice of that, luckily. But, I do think that Adam was aware of the possible (over)reactions and that he did it on purpose. I think that, as was the case a few times before in his career, he always finds a way to make a statement on stage, an important statement, when he desires so. In this case, it might have been a metaphorical jab in the eye of those who I resent the most and it’s not the diehard Freddie fans, who openly and unapologetically don’t want to hear anyone else sing his songs, no; I have so much respect for them, they don’t even bother to comment on Adam; it’s a jab in the eye of Halflings, who pretend to tolerate Adam, but only if he is humble enough, bowed down enough, never stepping over the line, never claiming or pretending to be good enough; who don’t see him as an artist of his own for this or that reason, who will admit that he has a decent enough voice, but never ever fail to mention that he is ‘no Freddie’. They are the worst, neither discarding nor embracing, neither giving him a chance nor shooting him down; always voicing their lukewarm opinion and remaining an annoying rattle in the background, staining this beautiful collaboration.
Although Adam is humble enough, always so respectful, and although he has said many times that Freddie is one in a million for him and he would have never said it if he hadn’t really meant it, he is not stupid and he knows who he is and what he brings to the table – and it is so much more than some people give him credit for. So, for them, here’s a gentle poke, just to make them think and squirm. It just shows that Adam finds Queen and Adam to be worthy of a statement on stage, and when Adam does it, it is always about things very close to his heart. He has done it a couple of times before and they were always capital statements, especially when he knew exactly how provoking they could be.
Of course, on stage, Adam can chug a bottle of champagne, roll over a couch, and he can wear whatever he wants on his head. It’s a performance, a show. When that drape was lifted, I could almost hear the announcer saying, “Welcome to the greatest show on Earth!” Those words are as old as world, announcing everything, from circus acts to Moulin Rouge and everything in between. What I find particularly exciting about Adam is how sometimes he likes to play with people’s perceptions, and how sometimes that play of his exposes some of their characteristics, revealing narrow-mindedness and maleducation on one side, or quite the opposite, finding warm and open and kind souls wherever his voice can reach on the other.
If you have any doubt that it was just for the show, you don’t have to look any further than Queen and Adam iHeartRadio performance - no crowns or couches or leopard suits there. But I would seriously recommend going further into the history of Adam Lambert the performer, because his costumes are so outrageously diverse and elaborate – but always fitting the occasion and the desired role. He pays a lot of attention to his costumes, the materials, the colours and designs, often times his own ideas behind the creations. And on really special occasions, they mean something very important. It’s always a detail, but clear as day. Sometimes, he wants to say something with them, and he lets us interpret them.
So this would be my interpretation of the headpiece – that he got so comfortable in his relationship with Queen, that he could unleash the creator inside, give way for the artistic expression of his own and have as much fun and liberty in creating this tour together with Brian and Roger as he had while making his own. He got to play and he did it. It made me giddy with happiness. It didn’t matter whether I or anyone else liked it or not, he wanted it and got it. When I saw him with the coronet, my reaction was a huge, shit-eating grin. You go, baby! You go and make great concerts with your friends. And that little thing about the jab? I don’t know, I was probably hallucinating - I am still over my head with how phenomenal that concert was last night. Even if I do think it, I can say whatever I want here, right, because this is my post and I am the Queen of it.

Just had to pull this out from above blog rant (which overall is a pretty damn good rant as these things go) ... because someone has finally summed up what bugs the shit out of me.
" it’s a jab in the eye of Halflings, who pretend to tolerate Adam, but only if he is humble enough, bowed down enough, never stepping over the line, never claiming or pretending to be good enough; who don’t see him as an artist of his own for this or that reason, who will admit that he has a decent enough voice, but never ever fail to mention that he is ‘no Freddie’. For the lack of anything else someone there is complaining about too many trucks and how the tour is "environmentally harmful"...seriously.... although they did find these objectionable: the couch, the crown, the changing of the outfits, too many lights and gimmicks, the audience has not practiced the clap, too gay, too many vocal runs....
