I'm a few pages behind so maybe a day late and a dollar short, as they say, but... Have any of these naysayers said who exactly is more worthy? I don't recall seeing any suggestions for who they'd rather have. I'm trying to avoid the negativity, but from the comments from "purists" that I've seen, if Adam does anything (e.g. KILLER queen), it's "too campy" (really?? Freddie never did anything campy??); if he plays it straight and flat-out slays a ballad, he's not moving around enough. Can't f-ING win! So who would these people rather see take on the lead singer role? (This is sort of a rhetorical question, not meant to bring down the tone, just venting!) I mentioned it a few pages back and got an assist but the short list would be: Marc Martel (can't believe I forgot) Tom Chaplin (from Keane - check out him with B&R on YT doing It's A Hard Life (although I found my first two dissenters of that here ) Matt Bellamy (of Muse) George Michael (from one good performance - I don't even get that one) MY choice is...Brian May and Roger Taylor - only because it's more purely Queen...BUT I Love QAL too so no worries! LOL talon. "Mostly well"? Careful, don't strain your enthusiasm muscles there, buddy. I know it's early days yet, but if an essentially sold out tour, adoring audiences, happy fans, happy crew, gorgeous visuals, glowing reviews, and a blatantly good time had by all is "mostly well," I'd like to see what an out-and-out success looks like, heh heh! Aside from a few small-bore technically glitches as they work out the early-tour kinks, I'd say this must have exceeded their most optimistic expectations so far. And the fellas seem genuinely proud of our Adam. I'm very very happy for them all. (And for us all, too . I hope you have a blast at your shows, T!) But yeah, I agree with both you and Mellie . By the way, just curious (not trying to stir, here), but would your "pure Queen" tour be allowed to include, say, Neil? Rufus (I've seen him get some flack on the Queen sites)? (I guess spike is OK because he overlapped with Freddie for a long time.) How "pure" are we talking here? (ps--seoulmate hahaha ILU, ) Ok it's going pretty darn well! As far as pure Queen goes - Spike would be allowed definitely. Neil would be allowed as they need a bassist and Brian can't do both at once. For me, I'd absolutely let Rufus on board - it's a nice connection And if they had an occasional guest singer I wouldn't mind, but the majority would be B&R. Again though that's me and I have NO problem with AL fronting them for a tour - I'm glad they are sincerely enjoying themselves...they are definitely having a blast! It is quite obvious that Adam and Adam only got both Brian and Roger revitalized. The "drinking blood every day" was one of those jokes that are great due to being so true. If not for Adam there would be no tour. Not with Martel, not with Chaplin, not with Belamy, not with anyone. They did not look to tour - and Brian was opened about it IMO in various interviews...Both Roger and especially Brian obviously have incredibly rich, busy and interesting lives. The amount of projects they are involved is just amazing! Did they NEED to tour? But then Adam happened and their blood started to flow faster and their heart started to beat at a different pace. And here we are. We see their faces glow with joy lighting up the stage, the connection between all three of them is palatable, they are happy! They LOVE EACH OTHER! You can feel it! You can almost touch it! It's a miracle!

I think from a purist point of view B and R would be the most preferred option. But everyone's different, and that's great it bring's different perspective and experiences to the forefront. Tbh if it was anyone else on the planet alive today, this tour would not work, because no one should try to take on Freddie and his timeless music, unless your Adam Lambert he is definitely once in a generation maybe a lifetime. By remaining respectful to the legacy of Freddie and Queen, he is also adding his own unique interpretation to the music. You could argue say Marc Martel for example is a very very good Freddie imiataor, where as Adam is more of a original contemporary aritist with a voice all on its own. Adam Lambert suits their theatrical style, and IMO really has the best voice since Freddie, he is not Freddie but he doesn't have to be, because he is Adam Lambert. No one well ever be better then Freddie not even Adam Lambert, it's a different time now, it just so happens someone has come along who has the talent to do Queen and Freddie justice that is all.

Nica - I agree - Adam is why they are touring. Kerry Ellis is why Brian went out on a solo tour. He makes them happy for whatever reason so that's another reason I support the tour The only thing I'll add, is that it's also a bit circumstance of the dice rolling the right way. Adam is the reason they are touring because Adam can hack it AND because everything fell into place to the point they wanted to go further. IF Tom Chaplin for example had quit Keane, and had hung around B&R or shown interest than quite possibly a different matchup COULD have happened. Some people dont' know but they almost toured with Robbie WIlliams in the late 90s early 00s but RT decided against it citing the fact that Robbie might not be as committed to it as he would need to be.. and 3ku1, I agree 100%

Andrea ♥ @powderpuffnails · 1h STORY: we were waiting at the hotel, we had seen Roger, Dr. Brian & Rufus all leave earlier. We knew Adam had not left yet. Then we saw Adam's Manager & we knew the time was close. No security at all, just chill in the hotel lobby. Then the elevator opened...Adam walked off...we slowly walked over to him and said hi to him. He was happy and very relaxed...we told him that it was a fantastic Show in Winnipeg, and that we were going to also see him tonight and also in Vancouver...he LAUGHED!!!! We asked if he would have a Picture with us and he said "of course" !!!! So we each had a picture with him and then we thanked him and told him to have a great show. He then said he's going for lunch! We thanked him again and then he left!!! THE WE FREAKED OUT!!! The end ))

I'm sorry but every time I see phrase "he is not Freddie" on Twitter, forum or in some article I have this overwhelming urge to respond with "No shit Sherlock!". This statement was used so many times that it's become a caricature of itself.
