I think from a purist point of view B and R would be the most preferred option. But everyone's different, and that's great it bring's different perspective and experiences to the forefront. Tbh if it was anyone else on the planet alive today, this tour would not work, because no one should try to take on Freddie and his timeless music, unless your Adam Lambert he is definitely once in a generation maybe a lifetime. By remaining respectful to the legacy of Freddie and Queen, he is also adding his own unique interpretation to the music. You could argue say Marc Martel for example is a very very good Freddie imiataor, where as Adam is more of a original contemporary aritist with a voice all on its own. Adam Lambert suits their theatrical style, and IMO really has the best voice since Freddie, he is not Freddie but he doesn't have to be, because he is Adam Lambert. No one well ever be better then Freddie not even Adam Lambert, it's a different time now, it just so happens someone has come along who has the talent to do Queen and Freddie justice that is all. I'm sorry but every time I see phrase "he is not Freddie" on Twitter, forum or in some article I have this overwhelming urge to respond with "No shit Sherlock!". This statement was used so many times that it's become a caricature of itself. Hence the coining of the #FLD (freddie legal disclaimer) I swear there is a law somewhere that we don't know about that states every article, post of comment has to come with some version of that line - maybe google have put it in their algorithm and you have to use it to get ranked... LOL

I simply could care less if some Queen fans don't like Adam or if they are upset with Queen's live music not being buried with Freddie. It's like being upset that not everyone likes Obama,or America, or the Pope or Brad Pitt. I mean does everybody have to have the same opinions. Isn't it just glorious that Adam and Queen have almost all sold out shows ,that people love their performances, etc. I just refuse to find a negative in any of this fantastic moment in time. But as I said above... everybody is different.. so angst away.

If I have to read one more word about Adam not being credible or worthy enough here of all places, I'm going to cry, for real. I don't care who said it, where, or why, I just don't want to read it here. It hurts me, and it's not nice. That Chaplin guy majorly sucks, by the way, completely objectively speaking. The thirty seconds I gave him was thirty seconds too long. Thank you aleks. I had to step away from the board because like you, I come here for Adam. Although there may be many other great singers in the world, there must be a better place to discuss them than here. Ask Q3 for a special thread for other great singers in the world so a discussion of who would be better to front Queen can be openly talked about, but you guys are bringing me down. I have tried scrolling, but it is hard not to read at least part of what people I like have to say and by then I have gone too far. I like my little bubble, it is my happy place. I know it is a bubble, I accept that it is a bubble, there is no logic to how I feel. I am completely capable of finding other music I like on my own but the only thing accomplished for me here, in a situation like this, is to put me off other singers, so this does them and me a great disservice.

While people are showing respect to Freddie, it is kinda disengenious to Adam too, as he is not bad too.

talon, I don't understand how Bri and Roger could put on a show by themselves without a singer. How would that work? And I really don't understand how many Queen fans don't respect Bri and Roger or hold them in high enough regard to accept their choice of frontman. I read some really ugly comments about them that took me by surprise. I think Glamberts have also adopted Roger and Dr Bri into the fold and get almost as upset by negative comments about them as we do about Adam. We're a protective bunch (as most fandoms are).
It's our nature.. LOL. We will love who ever likes or good to Adam. Also no one can pretend to be blind of the chemistry between the tree of them on and off the stage.

It has truly shocked me how much negativity and resistance the Adam collaboration has garnered among long-time Queen fans. I don't know who qualifies as a "purist," but having deeply loved Queen since I was a little kid (truly was fanatical about them and they will forever be my favorite band of all time), I instantly saw Adam as being perfect for Queen, just as Brian & Roger did. It's really surprised me how many Queen fans don't agree. Brian & Roger doing a few of their signature songs in a Queen concert is one (very enjoyable) thing, but to have the real Queen experience, a charismatic & vocally gifted frontman is needed, which Adam fits like no other.

I love chocolate candy and I love ice cream. When I eat ice cream I don't preface it with "It's no Hershey bar" because well, duh, it isn't. That's how I feel about the "he's no Freddie meme" it doesn't annoy me but I do say "well, duh, of course he isn't. On the plus side, the "he's no Freddie" has replaced all the Gay references we put up with forever.

My family all watched that performance on TV and that's who they all want fronting Queen. It really was awesome as heck and I love Keane. His version of Under Pressure is great too, he's actually the only guy I've heard nail that bridge falsetto live. Well and this other guy called Adam Pascal but he's not a big name.
LOL.. exactly seoulmate! He sounded really off.
