Agree! Did Ryan interview Adam in the last few days? IDGI! This was recorded when Adam did the interview with Ryan for iHR Q+AL Preview. They must have embargoed it until now. Don't recall Adam saying anything about dates in what was aired.

I think the announcement is low key, because right now, the fans are the only ones whose expectations needed to be re-adjusted. He was not yet on any media lists for a 2014 release, no need to change anything there. Earlier, he tried saying it himself, by revealing a while back, that he was not yet done with the album, but both on message boards, as well as on twitter, the key opinion makers continued the 'album will be in 2014' drum-roll. So, he needed to say something more formal to the fan base, to make it clearer. I think, this is just his way to get these bad news behind him, while we are all on a high from watching the tour. Smart boy!
I was not expecting it any more in 2014, so no real surprise here. Question is, whether we will get a single? I hope we do, actually.
As far as an album release in Q1 instead of Q4, I am not worried. In fact, there is less competition on the album charts then. Adam's core fan base is not one that shops only at Xmas for music, and the reality is, they are glambroke. Adam was regularly in the news, he will not fall off the radar. First week sales totals are lower in Q1 compared to Q4, but Adam's budget is not built on album revenue, thank God. The casual fans will eventually catch up, if something triggers their attention to shop for it. Which gets back to the first single. I hope he can at least get that out this year.

It last Monday's Ryan Seacreast interview -- Adam just said he was still working on the album, putting on finishing touches and might add something -- very general. But he said he was not done. ** At the same time (but not broadcast), Adam must have also talked to Ryan about the release date and they embargoed (held) that news until today. This is all staged and planned.

It was the Rolling Stone article that had the album quotes - he said he wasn't done and might look for new material and that he was not going to rush a project like this.
I don't think an additional few months is going to be the difference between radio success and failure. Adam had to change the game drastically or he would just have the same results as last time (Billy Jean King quote: "always change a losing game") That change cannot happen overnight.....it takes time and he is doing it brilliantly in my opinion. Where others with a less than successful second album and a lost record deal have disappeared into indie land and "touring" in pubs and colleges, he got himself on tv, he aligned his name with legends old and new and now.....he is the star of a massive arena tour! On stage with icons in front of tens of thousands every night, ecstatic reviews in Rolling Stone, iheart radio all over him etc., oh, and he's earning millions, flying in a private plane and indulging every costume whim....he is literally living his dream!
I think he is going to have a fabulos Era 3 .....but it I think it will be because of the time he took and all he has done in the last two years to carve a new path forward. A lot of things will be different this time....except him of course....he's still just beyond fabulous!

There was a tweet earlier today that gave links to video playlists for each of the past 3 concerts. Of course I cannot find it now because of the very large number of tweets on my feed. Does anyone have a link to the tweet or the playlists?

Just to toss this idea in - I'll say the single is Love Kills, and that is the "something" being added to A3.

Strike while the iron and time is right. I don't think media will forget him. As a matter of fact, I think by the time the tours makes the rounds in the US, his name will be out there and media curious when he does something in the future. Yeah stream is back on.... Thank you for this. So much talent here:-))))))

Does anyone have a link to the tweet or the playlists? Go to The Chicago concert thread, page1. I think you are looking for mmyy9's spreadsheet. The link is there in the Recap, under videos Also new Daily News Thread is up

Right -- the RS interview is the one he talked about the album -- and how he was still working on it. *** I agree, that the calendar is not that important -- but how they sequence promotion is. And at least they are starting to talk about the album a bit more and with specific times.
