coo.coo.ca.choo: your post about Adam feelings and other people reminded me of this performance that made me fall in love with Bette Midler. Honestly, it makes me tear up every time. Because of the elemental (to me) truth that, "Everybody gets one." The opening monologue is what I'm referring you to, but the John Prine song is also so poignant.
Mostly I'm talking about the "Don't let them notice," part in reference to you post.
