Okay, I guess I was just getting worked up. It seemed to me that he softened quite a few notes, cut others off a little abruptly, and there was a rasp on some of the bigger notes. I wish i had a better command of singing to be able to describe to you what I mean. It just reassures me that you say he sounded strong with good support. Thanks for that. The good news is, he seemed to use his lower register more, which I love. I heard several softened parts but thought it was an interpretative choice. I also thought he was roughening up a few notes in response to people saying he was too pure. He really sustained a few notes in STL extra long. And his lower register is sounding very chocolate-y tonight. |
