Tale of Two Cities and Three Concerts

OK. It is not a very original title but it will have to do. Flying at 30,000 feet (I can smile there) seems to be an appropriate venue for writing my recap. Haven’t come down from 30,000 feet since the Forum but did go up from there in Vegas!

Mom came with me to the concerts in the form of her picture and though the Forum was amazing, Vegas was her special spot (unlike her formerly way too serious daughter). However, QAL made sure it would be mine too but more about that later.

After a remarkable completion of mom’s journey in an unforgettable weekend in Sedona, I went to San Diego to be with old friends as a kind of transition from the last weeks and the opening into a wonderful celebration of the joyful and loving spirit that was and will always be my mom. It was a perfect few days complete with my first ever pedicure (yeah, you read that right). Mom is laughing her head off. She always said she prayed for a daughter but got me. Seems from the other side she is more successful in getting me to channel the feminine.

Then off to LA and meeting up with Dancy, Candy and Butterknife for the Forum with electricity in my gut knowing I was first row at the thrust. So many friends there to share that unbelievable charge of shakti (Sanskrit word for primal power and energy - such a good word!). I had JustKaren on one side and Gingerpf on the other with the TALC ladies close at hand. Standing there before the show started, I tried to imagine what it would be like to have Adam, Brian, Roger so very close but nothing prepared me for Adam’s first prowl down the cat walk to the thrust. Thrust - a perfect metaphor. Every part of him impacted - eyes, voice, body language, face, movement but above all that shakti, that charisma, that force of nature that is AFL. Every cell of my body got restructured.

Powerful in another way was the gorgeous spirit that is Brian May. The competition for Brian on Atop is going to be fierce. He will require a harem. I was overwhelmed by the beauty of the union of Brian, his instrument and his music. Love of My Life was a religious experience. Then there was the playful and loving interaction with Adam and the exaltation of the artistic melding between them - how to even describe the way that made us all feel.

There was the minor irritation of how the Forum set up the aisle so there was a rush hour traffic pattern right between our seats and the thrust but it hardly penetrated the aura of my bliss. And so the night went on.

Next day was the Southwest Adamtopia express from Phoenix to Las Vegas. It was hilarious to see all the Glamberts poised to glam it up in Vegas collected together on that flight. We had a low keyed first night getting ready for the back to back concerts at the Joint. I picked up Pi at the airport late afternoon and we sat together in the 2nd row balcony for the first show. She doesn’t attend many shows being somewhat quiet and not liking to venture out on her own in crowds so it was lovely to be able to be with her so she could share this amazing event. I was right next to Queen fans which was hilarious. They were vociferous in their comments all the way through and loved Adam.

As promised, acoustics were excellent and it was great to see the show in a smaller venue. Not much standing going on in the balcony and I decided that between sound and the energy blast of being close, I was going to stick with the energy blast. Maybe I just needed it more at this time. I know what Roger means when he talks about drinking Adam’s blood everyday. Saturday night was a great show but my awareness kept being drawn to that seat on the floor right by the stage that would be mine the next night.

And the next night came. What a great collection of ladies - Didilynn, Q3, SophieB, Momtomany etc. etc. Right up front. My second row aisle seat magically morphed into a first row seat when the first row vanished into the ether. Still trying to figure that one out. And I will bow down to Q3 forever as she was the one that generously bought all the Gold Circle VIP tickets she was allotted rather than passing on them and then turned around and sold them to Atoppers so we too could have the experience of being so close. And so it was that I wound up RIGHT THERE - intimately immersed in all the action including receiving a little spray of the water that baptized Didilynn into her initiation of what it was like to momentarily experience the inside of Adam’s mouth.

All night long it was just perpetual energy. Nothing in that new boy stopped moving all night long. He was a supercharged bundle of EVERYTHING! He was swinging, jiving and shaking all over like a jellyfish and I "kind of LOVED it!" And then there was the crazy little thing called the voice. OMG! Too much to take in. The looks between Adam and Brian, the way they held each other in a glance, a touch, a smile and in that magical place of sonic and spiritual union - such a privilege to be able to peek into that even for an ephemeral moment. I’ll have what they’re having!

It was over in a shower of gold. Adam’s cognition was perfect. It had to be gold. I felt so complete that I even had the thought that this would be enough. Didn’t need to see another show. Not changing my plans but I feel somehow different. It will be icing on the cake rather than a primal need and longing. Something did get restructured. There was and is a completeness. And Adam will be there for me for a very very long time in however my relationship to him evolves.

Theosgma thanks so much for sharing your amazing Adam journey with us!  So glad you were able to share the experience with Adamtopia friends!  And 'the thrust' baby....you got to witness 'the thrust!'
