I will be there and I will report back on Thursday. I will be there too! I am so excited I can't even sleep!!! OMG! I'm more excited for this concert than for my OWN first concert at MSG tomorrow! My 26 year old son who lives in Philly totally surprised me when he announced he'd bought tickets....he "tolerates" my berting which I really try to keep in check around him, but has had no interest in Adam or his music. (and is a bit condescending to be honest). When I asked him why he bought tickets (I could have got him better seats for less money if he'd given me a head's up, stupid boy) he replied "It's Brian May,mom...I want to see QUEEN " Anyhoo....I'm confident Adam and the guys will "bring it" for this show and I'm gonna relish my "I told ya so" dance! (Thanks everyone for the videos, streams, recaps etc....we've just closed on a house down south and have been driving back and forth getting things in order. I don't know which way is up anymore.)

I love feeling all the excitement from those of you going to the show tonight, happy for you and for all the feels you are going to have. We are lucky, lucky fans. I'm sure it must be great for a fan to go see a show knowing pretty much what they will get. I saw Elton John in Las Vegas, it was a stupendous show, amazing, audience reception commiserate with the level of legend that Elton is. Another sound track of my life! Staging incredible, fun, irreverent, shiny. At one point a ginormous pair of breasteses came down from the rafters. Great fun. Great singing, iconic songs. But I knew what I was going to get. He did not disappoint in any way. Loved the show, love Elton John. But for all of you going tonight? Get ready. If this is your first time seeing the tour you will be, well, ...gobsmacked by brilliance (bridgeymah ). If this is your second show, or third show, ~or more~ you will also be gobsmacked by brilliance. Because while they are the same songs, same singer, same band, they are changed up, redone, improved, extended, unexpectedly moving, IMO. Constantly evolving. That's why we are lucky fans, IMO, each show stands on it's own. Has it's own hallmarks, it's own unique moments, it's own unforgettable notes, solos, moves, interactions. More than i have experienced before. It just, to my mind keeps getting betterer, when it doesn't seem it could. Lucky, I tell you. Makes me wish I could see every single one. And I have some advice, if I may. Try to be present for each and every moment. I know you know this, but I was blown away by how fast the time seemed to go. When it was over, it surely didn't seem at all like two and a half hours had gone by. Have the time of your life. This, in my opinion, is a show that can deliver that.

Today is my first show,Yay, and I am very excited. I watched some videos early on but have been on a video/audio diet for the past week and I am hungry and ready for tonight. One of local rock stations, WMMR which plays all kind of rock, is playing a block of Queen this afternoon in to commemorate the concert tonight and the DJ is calling it the concert of the summer. So again, I am very excited!

@valilac: Fit for a Queen: Adam Lambert fronts rock royalty tonight phillynow.com/2014/07/16/fit-for-a-queen-adam-lambert-fronts-rock-royalty-tonight/ … Fit for a Queen: Adam Lambert fronts rock royalty tonight Josh Kruger July 16, 2014 When Simon Cowell opined to Rolling Stone that Adam Lambert had a “touch of Freddie Mercury and the sexiness of Prince,” Lambert was still coming off his American Idol fame, eye shadow and all. Cowell probably had no idea how on point he was, with Lambert years later—meaning now—out on tour with the modern incarnation of Queen, once led by Freddie Mercury, who died of AIDS in 1991 when Lambert was nine years old. Twenty years later, and Lambert’s fronting Mercury’s band. Queen, aptly named considering the band is inarguably rock royalty, brings its 20-year catalogue to Philly for a Wells Fargo Center extravaganza, with Lambert singing lead vocals aside original Queen members Roger Taylor and Brian May—and man, how thrilling it’ll be to witness Lambert singing in tribute to the unique styles of the charismatic Mercury, including the song that made Wayne’s World famous, “Bohemian Rhapsody,” and pretty much every other Queen hit that has become worldwide rock standard. The tour’s been pretty well-received, too. Writes Jason Bracelin of the Las Vegas Review-Journal: Lambert sings with “an almost off-handed operatic flair” which fits the band well, particularly given that Lambert is prone to “unselfconsciously wear a leopard-print suit … eliciting neither grimaces nor guffaws.” Lambert’s comfort in his own skin-tight jeans probably accounts for his wide appeal in America, and, in particular, amongst queer people. After all, Lambert, like Mercury, is queer. That may not be news of the world, but it gives Queen’s ongoing legacy a kind of magic. 7:30pm. $35-$125. Wells Fargo Center, 3601 S. Broad St. 215.336.3600. wellsfargocenterphilly.com
