SCROLL ALERT - heavy whining to follow I've been debating for two days whether or not to post my recap. I did not have a good experience at Izod and it's the first time I was ever disappointed at an Adam show (except for the horrendous sound issues at KFest in Dutchess County). I wasn't disappointed in the concert itself because, even though I was sitting behind the speakers, it sounded great. It's because I bought VIP tickets so that I could get close to the stage without being on the floor (I'm short and handicapped so I can't stand) and this was my view for the night. Other than when Adam and Brian used that Titanic thing, I could only see everyone from the back on the catwalk and B stage. I even bought an aisle seat so I could look around anyone who stood in front of me but that only gave me a view of a big row of black light fixtures which never moved and blocked the screen in the Q. The side screen was actually behind me! These seats should never have been sold and definitely not sold with a VIP price tag. Plus Izod Center is not an easy place for the handicapped. Even though I paid for reserved handicapped parking, the walk from the parking lot was very long (no dropoffs or pickups allowed). Also, there are no handrails to get from the concourse down to your seat. We had to "negotiate" with the event people to let me leave from the floor level instead of having to climb back up those stairs. However, even though I couldn't see much, I could hear it and feel it and it was fantastic. I could tell that Adam was in a silly mood and seemed to me he was flirting with someone all night or showing off. One plus for where I was sitting was that I got to watch Adam leave and enter the stage for each costume change. He was late getting back for Under Pressure and his manager practically pushed him up the stairs. LOL I couldn't wait to get home to see the videos so that I could see what I had heard and felt. Thanks to the TALC video I'm now sure he was flirting with someone either in front of or behind the stage. LOL The MSG show was the exact opposite experience for me. Everything about it just fell into place. MSG went out of their way to make sure the handicapped were taken care of including coming and getting me from my seat and helping me with my walker so I wouldn't be crushed in the crowd. The renovated MSG is great. The concert was fantastic but it did seem that everyone on stage seemed tense. From reading here, now I know they were all definitely nervous. The only complaint I had was that Adam's mic was not loud enough and his voice seemed to get lost in the instruments at times. The view from my NON VIP tickets was spectacular. Plus, the people in front of me stayed seated so I could see perfectly. In retrospect, this made by disappointment in Izod even greater. The biggest reason that I was so mad at first and now just sad about the Izod experience is because it is probably going to be my last live concert ever. I pray its not but it probably will be. I've been to 15 of Adam's live performances now and I always went by myself until MSG and Izod. I retired this year because of my health and didn't think I'd even get these two concerts before it was just too difficult to attend. I'm not sure an A3 tour will get here soon enough. Video will just have to do. So, I'm happy that possibly the last time I got to hear Adam sing live he was BRILLIANT. Sorry for such a whiny recap. I just had to tell somebody how I felt and I thought you guys would understand how I am feeling.

Jesslala so sorry to hear that. Really surprised Izod folks were so nasty. The atmosphere definitely colors the concert experience. Those were fucked up seats!

Jesslala sorry to hear about your experience at IZOD. I went with a friend to the Houston concert and she has health problems. We were able to get down the stairs to the floor seats we had, but she knew she could not go back up them. One of the ushers told her to just stay in her seat after the show and he would come get her and take her to an elevator. He was so very nice and made sure she was taken care of. Too bad the people at IZOD were not so thoughtful.

Izod folks weren't nasty about it. It just took a bit of negotiation. Everyone we spoke to knew how stupid the rules were but only one guy had the nerve and courtesy to help me inside. However, because my seat was "behind" the stage, I had to give right of way to the guys breaking down the stage before they would let me enter the floor area. I didn't mind that and believe me those guys work like clock-work. The first thing they packed up was the chaise lounge. I told them to take special care of it. I finally couldn't walk any farther and I had to stop in the parking lot. My nephew-in-law, who was my guest, went to get the car and needed an escort vehicle to get back to me because of the way they direct traffic out of the parking lot. While I was waiting, two ladies in a car stopped and asked if they could give me a ride to the car. I truly believe they were Glamberts. They were both beautiful and dressed "appropriately" for an QAL concert. Thank you if they are reading this board. After that, an Izod worker with a transport chair came over to me after delivering someone to a car and let me sit in the chair til my car came. So there were some bright spots in this adventure.

That view was really bad from your see. I hope you give IZOD written feedback regarding the VIP view, lack of railings and the rest of the accessibility issues. That's really inexcusable these days. Sorry you are having to deal with the physical issues.
