Babs12 and I completed our own "tour" at Atlantic City. Here's a few key observations.
1. The men, the men! Rocking, head banging, singing (yes singing), arm waving and generally standing, rocking out to the music. Unbelievable compared to other concerts. I was actually able to drag my eyes off Adam from time to time (this was concert #6 for me) and crowd watched. Gaga clapping went right through the rafters. There was palpable buoyant energy. (There was the same sense at other concerts, but I was able to more closely observe this one, which seemed more universal to me.
2. Generally, just my opinion, a somewhat younger crowd overall. It was a real Saturday night, drinking at the Boardwalk crowd--ready to party.
3. We had great sight lines (and we were on the right side that Adam approved as very advanced during the sing along) right by the side stairs.
4. Lucky for us we had this uninhibited 11-12 year old boy sitting right in front of us between his parents. The kid rocked, played air guitar, punctuated songs with arms raised or punches to drum beats. He knew the entire Queen catalogue, stood up for most of the concert dancing the night away. At one point, rather endearingly, he grabbed his mother and gave her a hug as if to say, "Thank you for this awesome experience." Mom and Dad were rocking, too, but that hug and a later grab of Dad's shoulder with a smile of pure ecstasy made Babs12 and I a bit verklempt. All parents should get to experience the joy that inhabited that kid.
5. The on stage people, including the men, were so bouncy and into the concert, one had to grin to share their fun.
6. Adam won over the Queen fans in our section, big time. The sound wasn't the best in the 2nd half for me, but we were in Section 103, and one of the speakers really amped up to the point where I put my earplugs in guarding against chipmunk Adam.
7. Before the show got to meet and reacquaint with 15 or 16 lovely Atoppers. Here are the ones I remember, apologies if I leave anyone out. Shadow, fink fan, just gill, cookiejar, 4everAdam, Smokeyvera (and growing handsomer each day her son Eddie), dancy, Babs and Babs 12, Mangokat, supardu, Q3, Sandysva, theosgma, Glamtealady, crazyoldlady, etc. The restaurant ungraciously (after several of us repeated we needed separate checks) put us into one giant check, so scrambling to sort things out at the end required much effort and the good will of all the Atoppers. A minor glitch, given all the fun we had together.
8. I've never been to AC before, but it seems as if it's a bit seedy--2 or 3 casinos shutting down--maybe it's in transition. The ocean was majestic, can't beat that. Oh, and I won $289 at slots continuing my winning streak I started in Vegas ($950). As fink fan so aptly put it, we are all so glambroke, we need a respite before Adam tours for A3. My winnings are going to be welcomed by American Express and MasterCard! And my budget! So satisfying, so worth it!
Best concert of the 3 I went to CIA, Mohegan 2, AC. The crowd were ready to party and this time my section were on their feet dancing and singing. In front on me was a 13 year old fan dancing and singing the whole time, one couple first time seeing the show and Adam they loved it. The other couple came back for a second show Queen fans also. The whole 3 days were great spending time with people who love Adam as much as I do. Now back to reality wishing I was in Toronto.
Loved hearing Dragon Attack again he was super sexy.
