It is pretty terrible apparently. Sorry to say. I like both of them. I last saw Cyndi in 2004 and she was great -- beyond great. I have not seen Cher perform in almost 20 years -- and based on the reviews, it will stay that way. Well, there are good and bad reviews. Here is a positive one, for example: www.lasvegassun.com/vegasdeluxe/2014/may/28/review-cher-dressed-kill-and-fabulous-ever-68-cynd/And given the occasional reported nonsense that I have seen for QAL in those few reviews that were critical, I just learned to be a bit careful when it comes to automatically believing what is written in reviews. Not saying, it may not be a bad show or just one show too many for her, I cannot say that, because I have not seen it, I am just saying, reviews range from nonsensical algebra lessons to ecstatic hyperbole and everything in between, especially for somewhat controversial acts, and Cher is controversial, because many feel, she should not be doing this at her age, and the vocals are of course autotune in overdrive. Both are trademarks of Cher, but the older she gets to harder it will be to keep the naysayers silenced. I know some people I trust who have seen the show, they were not impressed. I believe that review is by someone who did not attend the show -- since he was in Las Vegas the night of the show he reviewed was in NY. As far as I can tell it is a recap of the MSG concert news reports. (I would not call that a good review of Cher -- except for her costumes.) Most of the reviews describe the costumes and staging which appear to be great. I might feel differently if I had never see her perform live, but I have. |

lady m - Thank you for posting this. Brian is an extraordinary talent - his writing, playing and singing. So much emotion here. Would love to hear Adam sing this song. Would also love to hear him sing "You Take my Breath Away." And while I'm at it, would love for Adam and Brian to collaborate on a new song. They seem to have such a great bond, it seems like a real possibility.

Interesting article for 2005 from Uncut magazine, reprinted for what would have been Freddie's 67th birthday. The interview at the bottom with Brian May gives Brian's views about the public's perception pre Queen/Paul Rodgers tour.
article linkI didn't know that Freddie was so much older, relatively, than the rest of the band. And oh my gosh, I'd join the minions of the pearl clutchers if Adam ever followed the road written in this article. Part of Adam that I love is that I don't think he wants the excesses of Elvis, Michael, or Freddie. I like that he is sane. Anyway, the article is a great read, thanks. PS, just for redpanda - our zoo just had their 4th set of red panda babies. |
