Interesting article for 2005 from Uncut magazine, reprinted for what would have been Freddie's 67th birthday. The interview at the bottom with Brian May gives Brian's views about the public's perception pre Queen/Paul Rodgers tour.
article linkI didn't know that Freddie was so much older, relatively, than the rest of the band. And oh my gosh, I'd join the minions of the pearl clutchers if Adam ever followed the road written in this article. Part of Adam that I love is that I don't think he wants the excesses of Elvis, Michael, or Freddie. I like that he is sane. Anyway, the article is a great read, thanks. PS, just for redpanda - our zoo just had their 4th set of red panda babies. Much older??? Yes, Freddie is the oldest, born in 1946. Brian 1947, Roger 1949 and John 1951.

Adam may be a great pioneer - the great pretender he is not , and there is cultural progress in that. Thanks for your essay, Craazy. Much appreciated and as Hoppers said, it made me think.

When there's a concert I always look at the city map and where the venue is located, where the centre is etc. If I have more time I also check the city tourist site for attractions and pics. When Brian tweeted his pics at dawn in San Francisco I started with an assumption that he's in his hotel at that time - also that he used normal lens in his camera and not a panoramic one. The one with both a bridge and Trans Am tower was the best indicator of the location which is The Fairmont. I don't know how high of a hill there is and if the hotel building in fact is high enough but it looks like it could be (there's a pic from top floor dining room where the tower can be seen through the window). I don't think you can get a pic like Brian posted from the Sir Francis Drake hotel that was suggested on twitter as it's situated more to the south, IMO impossible to get the bridge in the same photo with the tower from there. Now there's a pic (on page 10 in this thread) from the hotel room when Roger is getting his tattoo and if you want to compare the drapes and especially the distinct shape of chairs at breakfast table > it is the Fairmont. Link to SF tourist site (this is map, you can click to show the towers and the hotels. Trans Am tower is near Jackson Square and Fairmont is closest hotel to Cable Car Museum) www.aviewoncities.com/sf/chinatown.htmLink to hotel site photo gallery www.fairmont.com/san-francisco/media/photos/Link to Sarina Potgieter's pic of Roger pbs.twimg.com/media/BraCGfQCIAEZ5BV.jpg

I think you are right with the Fairmount for Roger and Brian. I doubt though that Adam is there. He has family in the Bay Area and probably tons of friends too. ETA: Thanks for your feedback regarding my nightly musings.

ETA: Thanks for your feedback regarding my nightly musings. Adam's family lives in the Sonoma area. And he seems to like hotels, even stays in one when homeless in LA instead of his mom or his many friends. Pretty sure Adam would be at the hotel. Now, in LA, I imagine he will spend a few nights in his lovely new house!

Just curious -- obviously, LA is full of people that are out on tour, etc. How do most typically handle long absences re their houses and stuff -- house sitters?
