so, I'm back at work today in the cloudy Seattle suburbs after my trip down to SJ. I started talking about my quick trip in the lunchroom and just discovered a bunch of closet glamberts - it was awesome! I'm so happy that he makes so many people happy - and I'm still grinning ear-to-ear about my experience. Sadly, my plane was delayed and we barely had time to meet up with fellow Atop-ers at a local pub, but I did get to at least see hoopla, tippytoes, prism, willowgarden, and adamfanem (who organized the table for us - thank you!).

Agree... Like it or not...acceptance is always based on many things. The make - up has always been a talking point. Even on this thread, some prefer with, I like the natural Adam. When your DS talks of maturing.... Well Adam was a pretty free spirit in his 20's....he has grown up in many ways with the opportunities that have come his way. And, as a member of the LBGT community, he also grown in the past 5 years. ( most do grow up...thank gosh) ITA. But it is going to be interesting to see if what my DS says is indicative of a broader change in perception among his (and Adam's) peers. If yes, it could be that one more hurdle is being cleared on his way up, up, up. We'll see how the 3rd album is accepted. So much fun stanning this guy!!! Yes... perceptions carry over, until there is some reason, or situation when he is seen in a different light. I am just surmising...rightly or wrongly...his club and costume days, were his lifestyle, and your DS and others had their perceptions of him, from that time and had not party to Adam's growth and maturing, until more recently. Kinda like the teacher who has perceptions of the little rebels/rascals in a class and upon later meeting them 5-10-15 yrs down the road... one could report they are actually functioning adults. Ha- ha Even those who had a less positive view of Adam, are also maturing, growing up and are less dependent on others in formulating their likes/dislikes re people/ personalities. Adam has opened my ears, when hearing him say....there are all kinds of gays, just like like all kinds of non- gays. ( taken in the context of Adam saying, there is not one type= gay; he addressed his flamboyant style, as tarring the image of what many were wanting their image of gay to be.) Times are changing.....slowly, but changing. Cross fingers....race, religion, preference, comes to be....JUST people.
I really liked that graphic of different kinds of people....ending with ...just the bones. Yup, all one species. Try to accept and get along! Not always as easy as it is to write those words.

For all of us who tend to angst over #FLD : what is more meaningful, this spontaneous expression of real deep feelings or some crap on certain blogs? Great point. I will #FLD angst no more (well try). Love this photo.
