Who can sing in that position? ** Both Freddie and Adam used furniture on stage, difference is that..... Freddie had a piano and Adam has "make you fainting" couch! A piano isn't furniture it's a musical instrument, which Freddie played amazingly well. I was joking! It was my attempt to point out how ridic all these comparisons are.

He is neither trying to be seductive nor singing. My question is "Who can spit in that position?!" He was having so much fun! Check out the video at about 2:15:

Lots of exciting stuff going on today. I am hyped, and I am just hoping to watch a good stream tonight. Everyone going to the Forum, I am green with jealousy. In the meantime, to keep my mind busy, I wrote an article/blog at the request of a Glambert. It is about Adam's ability to provoke strong emotions in his audience and listeners. [...] I read this article and discount it completely! "Since Queen's music drew from Broadway and opera rather than the blues - a more traditional foundation for rock bands - it was largely marginalized by critics. Even more recent comments from the establishment have rung with antiquated rock-crit tunnel vision." Do I really need to list the Queen songs that are based on blues! It is most of the catalog -- so proves that the writer does not know what he is writing about. [...] I don't know, Q3--that seems a bit harsh? I certainly don't want to challenge your expertise on Queen's catalogue (I'm not crazy!!!), but when you compare them, say, to the slightly earlier (and hallowed) Rolling Stones and the whole generation of rock bands that grew out of the Stones' American-blues-heavy tradition, Queen definitely seem to me to be working with a different sound--different not so much because of a lack of blues (because, yes, obviously that's there) but because of the addition of the other influences the writer mentions, from Broadway to Vaudville to Opera. No? But I recognize we're straying far from the Adam topic here--Sorry! Let me pivot: Hooray for Hometown night! This is going to be one HELL of a show. So happy for those of you who are going! Have a blast! Not trying to be harsh -- BUT I do not think Queen music = Broadway style. I agree that Queen took a different approach and they did not just lift blues music like two of my favorite bands did -- Led Zep and Rolling Stones but the vast majority of Queen's music is rock, and rock is blues-based. >> It is a piece of generational snobbery that I detest. Music based on the original Delta Blues (Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton) has more "rock credibility" than all the other forms of blues-based music -- even a song like CLTCL that is inspired by early Elvis rock and roll. No one can tell me that Elvis' music was not based on the blues. And to get there you have to ignore most of Queen's music. Twelve bar blues - unreconstructed with with classic blues chord progressions: Sleeping On The Sidewalk, Dreamers Ball, I Want To Break Free. Gospel (blues based chord progression) - Somebody to love Rock (blues based chord progression) - Tie your mother down Progressive rock (blues based chord progression) - Liar Hard rock (blues based chord progression) - Stone cold crazy Rock n roll (blues based chord progression) - Crazy little thing called love Rock Power Ballad - WWTLF Glam Rock - Killer Queen Funk Rock = ABTD I could go on.... Aside from the operatic sections of songs like Bohemian Rhapsody, what are the big Queen songs that are "Broadway"? Many rock critics (since the 1970's) most notably Rolling Stone have confused Queen's performance style and their use of 'choruses' with the genre of the underlying music. I understand it was different in 1975, but I am not sure why this persists except that no one can define rock music. But twelve bar blues is twelve bar blues -- and those chord progressions are there. And SCC is as much based on the blues as LZ "Black Dog". Perhaps I am missing all these "Broadway" songs?

it may be the realization that he isn't wearing so much make-up any more Agree... Like it or not...acceptance is always based on many things. The make - up has always been a talking point. Even on this thread, some prefer with, I like the natural Adam. When your DS talks of maturing.... Well Adam was a pretty free spirit in his 20's....he has grown up in many ways with the opportunities that have come his way. And, as a member of the LBGT community, he also grown in the past 5 years. ( most do grow up...thank gosh) ITA. But it is going to be interesting to see if what my DS says is indicative of a broader change in perception among his (and Adam's) peers. If yes, it could be that one more hurdle is being cleared on his way up, up, up. We'll see how the 3rd album is accepted. So much fun stanning this guy!!!

For those going to the Houston concert: adamtopia.com/post/513279FYI--I was told by Toyota Center today that tickets are selling well and they continue to sell tickets daily. That is all the info they would give me, i.e., they would not say how many have been sold. So excited!!
