I don't know how to post inside other peoples quotes and bring them over...sorry. I'm totally with you crazyoldgal. I think Adam definitely, unquestionably needs a better band... I think the band is his week link, sorry to offend anyone. I wish Tommy great success and I admire Adam's loyalty to him, keep him around but bring in a better more experienced lead guitarist. Tommy isn't a trained musician and is just learning. Ashley is a fun addition to the group but you can barely hear her, after listening to someone like Neal, OMG no comparison. I really think the success of solo artists like Elton John and Billy Joel has a great deal to do with their backing musicians, they are just as incredible in their own right as the lead singer and in no way take the spotlight away from the solo artist. Many groups like Queen, Aerosmith, Dave Matthews band have incredible musicians but the lead singers still steal the spotlight.
My son and his friends (who are working musicians) won't go see Adam because they can't stand his band, (they also don't like his pop stuff) but they are going to Queen and it's not just because Queen is iconic, they think Adam has a tremendous voice and admire the musicians.
I first discovered Adam through Citizen Vein and I actually think they were quite good and I also think Adam is the one that stood out...by a mile.
On a personal note, I really hope he brings a rock or funk edge with great musicianship to A3 because the pop stuff really hasn't worked and I think he's too good for it. Hope my opinions didn't offend.
I have a single ticket for Merriweather, good seat at cost.

Arrived in Houston from Vancouver and the hotel I'm at has at least 10 people staying from out of town who have come for the concert. Will report after the show. Any Atopers going to the fan event at the Lucky Strike? Yes, complete with green bracelet from several years ago!

I'll say this again after watching/seeing Brian, Roger, Rufus, SPike and Neil ADAM NEEDS to update . THis current band has pushed him so ahead of the game, it's unbelievable. I don't want him to go back he needs better musicians to support him. He is riding the wave to go stratesperic Hmmm, I disagree, crazyoldgal. Adam Lambert is a solo act. He WAS in a group that consisted of great musicians (Citizen Vein), but there (if you watch one or two performances they did in some bars/clubs) he didn't really SHINE - he looked like just one piece of the machine, he was just another member of the group and (in my opinion) Monte Pittman, the guitarist, looked more like the star of that band, than Adam did. That is what usually happens with bands--the singer is just one part. But, when a singer is somebody with REAL talent, they often leave the band to do the solo thing. Adam made the right choice when he called it quits with Citizen Vein and decided to try and make it on his own. Cause then ALL eyes were on HIM, and he could just explode like the star (the super nova) that he truly is. You have a great sense of humor! Sorry, that ^^ was rude! But your post stunned me! There is No universe where MP was star of that band! Very good guitarists are a dime a dozen in LA. Vocalists and performers of Adam's caliber are not! A great back up band only elevates a great vocalist! Even one who's a solo act!
