Delurking only long enough to say that I'm having the following from the Riffyou review embroidered in gold upon a satin pillow and I plan to snuggle up with it every night and purr and never, ever deign to give another review about the tour anything other than a Killer Queen Side Eye and a shrug, because now it has been SAID: "As for Lambert, this should do nothing but solidify him as one of the best pure vocalists in the world. With Queen he’s not only found his way through the rock vocal gauntlet, he’s kicked it in the teeth and giggled." So.fucking.there. (What I believe we're seeing in the reviews now is the Contrarian Principle that states that if something is being raved about by most, certain reviewers feel a moral obligation to be as pissy as humanly possible in going the other direction just to prove their non-existent artistic integrity. Poor tone-deaf ADD wankers...) Back to my lair and my pillow....

Seats just released at MSG, if anyone needs them. They are all in the sections that are one off the floor.

Actually, I'm semi-retired now...we finally finished and are living in the house. But I have the scars to prove it! Tie in to Adam...perhaps I could now turn my brad nailing skills toward a Bedazzler....hmmm....

Two years ago you were talking about listening to NCOE or something while brad nailing something, and I almost peed my pants. LOLOLOL

nannygoat posted this recap in the Toronto Concert Thread. Bringing this here so you won't miss it.... Thought I'd comment about my concert experience in Toronto. I've been reading the reviews (good and not-so-good), but it all comes down to how I and those around me at the concert felt at its conclusion. We were all blown away both by the musicianship of Adam, Brian and Roger, the light and sound spectacle and the musical selections. Most of the audience in my area were Queen fans who were content to cheer, but stay seated. (The section immediately to my left were standing up for a good part of the night and I was jealous!)The audience was very vocal though and applauded after most selections. Of course, they really liked pics or mentions of Freddie. Adam certainly can't compete with a deceased idol and I was glad he is doing the songs his way. And that way is fantastic!!!!! STL was the best I've heard yet. Don't know how he can hold a note like that. His audience participation with "gimme love' was cute and the audience really responded. It was especially effective when he involved the other band members like a vocal/instrumental jam session. Queen fans in my area were commenting on his vocals numerous times throughout the night. My seats were in the 1st tier at the back corner of the arena. I had a perfect view of the lights and special effects. I wasn't close enough to see the musicians well, but the large Q/video was the best enhancement at a concert ever! I didn't even need the binoculars I brought. Because of the tiers, you could stand without hampering the view of those seated behind you and I often did just that. Sound was fantastic! Adam's voice just filled that huge arena, which by the way, was filled to capacity. It was loud. Etymotics were a great help for the louder selections, but sometimes I just had to take them out to enjoy the sound. My buzzing ears complained about it afterwards for awhile. My DH is not a fan of Adam or Queen but he agrees to accompany me to concerts. Although he sat most of the night, he was standing and clapping at the end and said he was really impressed with Adam and Brian. He really liked Brian's long guitar solo the critics are panning. I know several people have commented about how they were on post concert highs following their concert. Not me- I actually felt a little depressed-maybe the anticipation of the last 4-5 months was over or the fact that I would not see them again. I'm seriously considering trying to get a ticket for the 7/28 show in Toronto. By the way, we stayed at the Novotel Hotel on Esplanade where we could park our car and it was a short 5 min. walk to ACC. There were plenty of dining places nearby and it was close to downtown. Perfect place to stay in this beautiful city. Lots of construction going on in Toronto though.
