Not sure if this has been posted. www.theglobeandmail.com/arts/music/three-reasons-freddie-mercury-might-approve-of-queen-adam-lambert-and-one-reason-he-might-not/article19584292/Three reasons Freddie Mercury might approve of Queen + Adam Lambert (and one reason he might not)..... 4. Let him go. (We will not him go!). One wouldn’t imagine the stylish Mercury condoning the gold-lamé blouse May wore for the opera buffa shenanigans of Bohemian Rhapsody, but, more seriously, would he abide parts of the original 1975 recording being used in a 2014 concert? A tape of Mercury’s studio vocals and live concert footage were also used for the unplugged Love of My Life, though May and the audience sang most of it. Nice touches, but how much Mercury is required? On the wistful These Are The Days of Our Lives, Roger Taylor sang “you can't turn back the clock,” and yet the home movies of the band in its youth were screened to sappy effect. It’s a rock and roll show, not a Mercury tribute. It’s also 2014, and about time the band moves on and calls itself simply “Queen” again, dropping the plus-Lambert tag. Mercury’s legacy is assured; there’s no need to continue the memorial. As the man sang himself: “If I'm not back again this time tomorrow, carry on, carry on, as if nothing really matters.” plays Montreal’s Bell Centre, July 14; and returns to Toronto’s Air Canada Centre, July 28. I am convinced Freddie would not approve of those videos of him singing being used in concert. I am pleased someone finally wrote about it in that way. I honestly believe that Freddie would prefer to have the music he wrote performed -- particularly BoRhap. I am sure many Queen fans feel differently. But they used a tape for the chorus section when Freddie was alive and that part really would take a lot of people to perform live -- more then 6 voices. I agree but I think we are in the minority! Hard thing for Brian and Roger to traverse though with the diehards!

One thing that confuses me with many of the reviews I read is that lack of mention for WWTLF. Vocally it is powerful and moving. Visually it is jaw dropping. Emotionally, it grabs you. Or at least it grabs me. Yet, a majority of the reviewers don't even mention it. Odd.

George Michael looked pretty damn fine. Yup! And TBH, I see George in Adam's opening outfit! I think the beard and sunglasses do it!

George Michael looked pretty damn fine. You can certainly see why there are the constant references between the early GM and today's Adam. Kinda spooky.

Hard thing for Brian and Roger to traverse though with the diehards! I think Brian, Roger and Adam have done a really good job balancing out the complex demands of the audience while strengthening the Queen brand for the upcoming releases. Detroit was much better than Chicago IMHO because Adam was more Adam and less tentative. I cannot imagine Freddie having Brian sit next to him or imagine Freddie making funny faces on stage -- Adam did a full cross-eyed face on CLTCL in Detroit on the big screen. And the "Gimmee Some Love" addition is great. ** By the time they get of BoRhap, I think Adam could sing it without the Freddie solo part and everyone, even the Queen diehards would be fine. In Detroit, there was a technical glitch. At the end when Freddie and Adam are supposed to duet, Freddie's image was not there -- only his voice -- and Adam was on the big screen at the end. No one has even mention this on a Queen board and the Queen fans seemed fine with it. I really think they could have Adam sing it all. youtu.be/PfaauAGaPSs

In Chicago WWTLF was the show-stopping moment. But in Detroit KQ-STL, LK, "Gimmee" and TSMGO were the vocal showstoppers. I love WWTLF and it was perfect, just was not the moment that stuck in my head from Detroit (or the 2 Vegas concerts). LK is Detroit was the best I have seem it so far. ** I wish there was a bit of a break before WWTLF so that my ears could catch up!

You know what the doctor says: A little music every day keeps the blahs away. To help you get your proper dosage, we round up a concert for every day of this week. BY JOE MCGEE | JULY 14, 2014 Wednesday: Queen + Adam Lambert ($35-$125) No matter who you pick, there isn't an artist around who could replace Freddie. That said, the theatrical Adam Lambert has been winning over thousands of Queen fans during his tour with the legendary band. Lambert has joined original band members Brian May and Roger Taylor on stage in the past, and is now a touring member of the band. May and Taylor haven't lost a step, and appear to be having fun playing behind the American Idol as they bring their countless classics back to the big stage. Wednesday, July 16th, 7:30 p.m., Wells Fargo Center, 3601 S Broad Street.

Partly for the sheer beauty and power of Adam's take on the song. And partly because I associate the song with my late husband. Life ends, but love endures forever. Many people seem to be uncomfortable with reacting publicly to anything that produces a strong emotional response. Maybe that's why reviewers tend not to mention Adam's WWTLF?
