<headdesks>
Just got the kid packed up and dropped off for her friend's sleepover while I'm in NY tonight. Tells me 10 minutes before we're supposed to leave that all the clothes she wants are dirty and has nothing to wear. I tell her that she gets to go in dirty clothes if she can't be bothered to tell me that she's "out" of clothes. After much angst, find something acceptable, plus all the swim stuff etc she needs for camp Friday morning. Then there's wailing that I'm leaving for a day (i.e. less than 24 hours) and that she'll miss me. Note that she's overnighting at a friend that she's known since practically since birth and has stayed overnight with dozens of times and never wants to leave. I now have less than 40 minutes to get out the door and to the train station, and my printer is balking at the tickets.
ACK !!!!!!!!!!
<gets waily herself>

BY VICTOR FIORILLO | JULY 17, 2014 AT 9:34 AM On Wednesday night, Queen stopped at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia for a fast-paced 23-song set with American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert at the mic. More than a few people that I spoke with in the days and weeks before the show were, to put it nicely, a bit skeptical of Lambert being the man tapped to sing the songs that Freddie Mercury made famous. But none of the 19,500 people at the Wells Fargo Center for the sold out show seemed to mind. Lambert is a gifted vocalist and flamboyant frontman who sang the songs competently while adding his own dramatic flair. The nearly two-hour, thirty minute set began with "Now I'm Here," "Stone Cold Crazy," and "Another One Bites the Dust," eventually wound its way into solo performances by original members Brian May and Roger Taylor, and closed with "Bohemian Rhapsody." Encores: "We Will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions." Tickets for the July 26th concert at Boardwalk Hall are still available for $50 to $175. Well worth it for this fun show. Below, some photos, videos and the full set list. (videos and pics) Competently? COMPETENTLY? Did Michelangelo paint the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel competently? Was Michael Jordan a competent basketball player? Was Rudolf Nureyev a competent ballet dancer? Why do I do this to myself? Why do I read reviews? Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Well, Cassie, WE (thanks to you and Angelina) know the reviewer has a less than competent knowledge of music to write a competent review!
ETA: For all we know, he might be the inventor of autotune! Or, think rappers sing opera! Or, he thinks talent is what HE sees in the mirror?!

It's my belief that many reviewers are frustrated wannabe performers and that they're always a tad bitchy as a result.
I had the same reaction..."competent" my ass.
I'm going back to my red satin pillow that has the quote below embroidered on it gold and curl up with it and purr. It's all the review I will ever need!

That list of "highlights" to help identify shows......is it somewhere that we all can add to it? If not,
Philly - Brian, pin-striped pants (love them!) Montreal - 109.3 decimals - only shy of a concord!

Well, now I'm nervous because I've totally forgotten how to link stuff here, but this blog is really fun and the photos are gorgeous--a Queen fan reviewing the Toronto concert:
Toronto Queen Fan ReviewHis Her photos are incredible, the best I've seen that catch the lighting and the audience. They are so clear and crisp that they almost look like illustrations. Add to that, the review is great then .... standing
